Before reading all the comments i thought it was about a friend that loved him, and he didn't see it. Now that that person is gone (left or died) he realises that she was "the one". But it's too late. Now that I read the comments, it's clear that it's a death. |

I took it as it was a summer fling, where the guy actually fell in love with the girl. Now, I have two meanings possible. They had a summer love, and she just unexpectedly left (...so unexpected, I know you meant it) but he still loves her after Or, she has a reputation (...but couldn't trust her) and he still loves her after a summer fling. |
