This song is about jesus. in an early 60's spanish version of the bible, jesus was refered to as El Ciervo Vulnerado, which roughly translates to "the wounded deer", or "Siervo" which means shepard. so "the wounded shepard", much like vicarious atonement is when jesus was killed by the romans, but it was seen as legal in gods eyes because he died in place of all the people who have ever, or will ever sin. the entire album is very religious, as many comments before me have stated. it focuses more on the FEAR of god, then the love of god. also, in some places, it calls out the church for the fucked up shit it does. then again, cedric has admitted on numerous occations that he pulls lyrics out of his ass, and records full songs of gibberish before he actually writes songs. |
