i think this song is about Jesus, from his perspective. i think its when he is being crucified. "sweating all your blood" he sweat blood before he was crucified and the fact that it isnt his own i think that represents that he had taken our sins. he tries to make us listen but we dont pay attention. they killed him when he tried to reach them. he is the only one with undying love, others love can be changed and taken away. and thn "theres no hope for today... maybe theres another way" people are sinful but can find hope in christ. thats what i get out of it |

okay this is what i get out of this song. its about a girl.... with me so far?.... she was raped by her father when she was only a little girl, "Mary was a holy girl, Father wet her appetite" then she grows up going kind of crazy with drugs. then when she is confronted with men she is kind of confused "She said, "Will you rape me now?"" and she doesnt believe in God because of what has been done to her. basically i think it was about how those kind of things can affect our lives. i think they used the name mary because she was supposed to be a godly virgin and they wanted people to realize the main character was this kind of person until she was raped. |

okay so to me this song means this. its about someone who wants to commit suicide. they are contemplating and people are like "no dont do it everything will get better" but the narrator feels like they dont relate to him. so he starts saying that no one can really relate to each other because we all deal with different things. then he is like "this is my chance. dont save me." but then he is like "save me" like give me a reason not to die. but no one does and he just ends with "i dont care" |

i dont know. maybe i am just trying to relate to it but to me it seems like it might be about an eating disorder. like people notice strange eating habits and think you are strange because of it. then people find out for sure that its an eating disorder and it puts her in an "awkward situation" and she needs an explaination. she doesnt want to let go of the eating disorder but she doesnt really see a way out right then. at night is usually the hardest times for people with eating disorders, like when most binge and such so that is kind of the dream part to me. and then in the end she is just like she will not let go because it seems like such a part of her and such a comfort for her. but thats just what i get. |

oh adding to what i just said "you will never see with virgin eyes again" and "everything's changing" i think those are the theme of the song along with "unbroken" obviously. because she is saying, bad things happen to us. they change us forever. but we will see that they did not destroy us. |

I am pretty much in love with this song. I think the first verse is about the narrator's parents getting divorced because of abuse. the next verse is about someone getting pregnant and then the father leaves her. the third verse is more general, kind of meaning a lot of other things can break you too. but i love the chorus. in the midst of all of these horrible things, people feel their lives are falling apart and everything is over. they are hopeless. but one day they realize "there is still a part of me fighting". things will change eventually. there is still something left that is unbroken and that can give them hope. |

i think this song is about depression and self-harm also. "help i have done it again" "hurt myself again today" those both sound like self-harm but it could just be figurative rather than literal. but depression is a really lonely illness because so many abandon those who suffer from it. and so many times in depression people feel they have lost themselves because they can no longer expirience the joys and happiness they used to have. i love this song. its like an addiction. i may be wrong in my interpretation but one good thing about music is that you can take it differently so it means something relatable to you. |
