| Foo Fighters – Down in the Park (Gary Numan cover) Lyrics | 18 years ago |

COBHATEBREEDER, I was thinkins something like that. "kill-by-numbers" obviously refers to "paint-by-numbers", so it's some kind of twisted game. It's very likely that this song has some sort of ulterior motive. Maybe the machine-thing refers to us humans. And the numbered humans refers to all other animals on this planet, describing the way we think this earth all belongs to us and the way be sort of make all other creatures our slaves. Like if machines will start to rule the world, we'll know how it feels, or something. |

I don't know if anybody has written this already, but I think it's just a joke. No, message, no meaning, no nothing. It's just a jokey thing. They didn't plan to put this on the record at first. But their Chris Goss, their producer, thought they should so they did. |

| Queens of the Stone Age – Give The Mule What He Wants Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| There's always someone that has a drug-related idea of what the song is about. About almost every song. Why? Ok, Josh and the other guys sure is/were druggies but that doesn't necessarily have to mean that every song they write is about drugs. | |

... And does anybody know who's the first line. "I don't even know what I'm doing here." I was thinking maybe John Frusciante from Chili Peppers... but then, why the hell would he hang out with them. But then again, maybe that's why he says "I don't even know what I'm doing here.":P |

| Queens of the Stone Age – Avon Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| FYI, Nova and Avon is basically the same song. They did it as some kind of test, to show how you can change the how feel of a song just by changing the vocals. So Josh sang Avon and Pete Stahl sang Nova. | |

The Nick-thing is absolutely possible. It would certainly be a thing to write a song about, and I don't know any other song that fits into the Nick-story. But the "I could keep you all for my self"-part seems so.. love-ish. But at the same time. Nick is good, and I think Josh want to love him, when he behaves the way he does it's impossible. |

| Queens of the Stone Age – How To Handle A Rope Lyrics | 18 years ago |

I was thinking it's maybe about some kind of addicton, drugs for example. And when the person is high he's/she's alright but the addiction has gone so far that he/she has to be under the influence all the time. The real world is not enough, it's only the drug-influenced world that matters. And that puts such a big pressure on the person that he/she can't take it anymore. But i don't know. I might be ridiciously wrong. I probably am. It may be too easy to be true. It's probably some sort of disguise. Josh is trying to fool us. |
