Dethklok – Briefcase Full of Guts Lyrics 16 years ago
Maybe it's actually the amount of work it has been thrown to him and also had taken to be employee of the month what has driven him insane.

Don't you think sometimes like this when people decide you can do in such short time such abusive amounts of work?

Dethklok – Impeach God Lyrics 16 years ago
I think when they are talking about the gods they are not referring to the classical deities, but what currently people consider gods to be blindly believed in, you know, the media, medical and psychologist associations, the political parties, the great corporations, they are pointing out the general corruption and lies along with the inconsistent arguments they say to the people in order to keep the power and the status quo.

Well, of course we all know that this is truth, you simply have to read a newspaper and will find from time to time wrong information, or information who has no real practical value but is on the frontpage just bcs it sells, and we better dont start talking about political parties and corporation *cough* watergate cough *cough* Exon Valdez *cough*

Although of course as shown in this episode, is not that all the people who whine about these problems got the "skills" to do a better job. as Nathan said "I dont even care".

Dethklok – Go Into The Water Lyrics 16 years ago
Yeap, The Shadow over Insmouth is a really good option, it's a tale from H.P, Lovecraft about a guy visiting a half-abandoned town who resulted in being infested with hybrids of men and Deep Ones, acuatic beings which worship the Great Old Ones and have an entire civilization across the the seas of the globe, these Deep Ones have a tendency to couple with humans, the result looking like normal people at first but then becoming in Deep Ones with the pass of the years, the narrator character will know about of this in a really personal way.

And yes, the Deep Ones had a plan to take over the land.

Children of Bodom – You're Better Off Dead Lyrics 17 years ago
Yeap, this song is the best dedicatory you can bring to someone who is trying to screw you.

Although it works great too when you are unloading a SW strike in to an enemy in some RTS like C&C3 lol!

Nile – Von Unaussprechlichen Kulten Lyrics 17 years ago
The songs is mainly bassed in some tales of Robert E. Howard and H.P. Lovecraft, both being friends and writers, it was Howard who created the fictional ocultist book Unaussprechlichen Kulten (nameless cults or the Black Book) where he talks about ancient civilizations and terrible prehuman entities. Lovecraft used sometimes the book in his tales, one of them, Dagon, have the lines from where Sanders (which is fan of Lovecraft) apparently took inspiration for some of these lyrics. Finally, the references to reptilian creatures probably have been taken from the Call of Cthulhu Mythos, where they appears as creators of ancient civilizations and worshipers of the god Yig.

Nile – SSS Haa Set Yoth Lyrics 17 years ago
This song has many references to what are populary known as the reptilians, according to some mystery investigators and fantasy writers these reptilians are highly mentally evolved reptil creatures, some say they are descendant of surviving dinosaurs, other say that they come from other star systems.
In the song Karl Sanders apparently is refering to the conspiracy theory developed by David Icke, which says the reptilian secretly are dominating the human race, to do this they have hybrid which are half-human and half-reptilian but can offer an external appareance of normal humans, they can be posessed by pure blood reptilians to control them.
Other references of the song are to H.P. Lovecraft and Robert E Howard fantastic works, Lovecraft created a fictional inner place on earth named Yoth were he sets the remains of an ancient lost prehuman civilization. Howard has a one of the evil deities of his fiction the god serpent Set, which controls Stygia.
We can conclude that Sanders made a mix of all of these elements and others to create the lyrics of this song.

Children of Bodom – If You Want Peace...Prepare For War Lyrics 18 years ago
Personally I think this song is about survival, you simply cant stand and wait for death, you got to fight your wait, as a person or as a nation you got to fight, otherwise you will be extinct, so better to be enraged than to be apathetic, at least while you're enraged you will act and take down some enemies before fall, so your life wont be worthless

Nile – As He Creates, So He Destroys Lyrics 18 years ago
According to Sanders these lyrics were bassed on the Donald Tyson's Necronomicon, which were bassed in H.P. Lovecraft works, the song is refering to Azathoth, the supreme god of the mythology invented by Lovecraft, in the chapter of the necronomicon concerning about Azathoth he is described as the creator of the universe and his keeper, but also it's said that he is blind and idiot, he doesnt care about what is created or destroyed, just keep the balance of the things that are in the universe.

Personally I see in Azathoth's theme the way H.P. Lovecraft (declared atheist) his vision of a supreme god, curiosly this god, Azathoth, has a servant and emmisary, Nyarlathotep, which actually use to bring chaos and destruction, also he is actually very clever and act in a very human like way, easily interacting with men and other species of the mythos (at difference of Azathoth which is an irrational idiot). Also if you think a bit you can see a correlation Azathoth/Nyarlathotep=God/Devil while even if the last one scorns the first, but just is ultimately forced to serve him,in the Necronomicon it's said also that even Nyarlathotep is kept in existence by the senseless music of Azathoth, also it's said that Nyarlathotep will "rebel" Azathoth in the last day of the universe and break his flute, finishing himself and all what exist.
Finally, we can also see some sort of relation betwen the late conception of Lovecraft's circle writers as Azathoth being the origin of the BigBang, the one who keeps the balance betwen energy and matter.

Nile – The Nameless City Of The Accursed Lyrics 18 years ago
This song is bassed in one tale wrote by H.P. Lovecraft, an horror and sci-fi author from early twenty century which Karl Sanders and other members of Nile are declared fans.
In the tale, a lone explorer enter to a city that has been apparently abandoned at the sands of the arabian desert for aeons, as the tale continues he discovers a sort of temple where he found a subterrain passage, and there the momified corpses of reptilian creatures, aparently sacred creatures to the old inhabitants, and the chronicles of the city in form of murals.
It's only at the end of its exploration where the explorer manages to discover terrified what truely were the inhabitants of the city and in what they had become with the pass of the ages.
