To me Jack is talking about the News and how in this day and age where nothing is sacred to the world of ratings and sensationalist reporting. Items such as someone committing suicide on a freeway are sensationalized and made into more than it is. This makes sense to me since JJ was a film major at UCSB, so he knows his stuff when it comes to topics such as film. |

I feel as though its about vietnam, as that was the war that symbolizes the mass bombings of an area and the extensive use of helicopters to jump from site to site.
Also, maybe "An entertaining scandal broke today" refers to watergate? |

it feels as though they're writing about falling in love with a generic T.V celebrity who preaches peace and love but doesn't show these virtues in her actions ( What's more ironic than a hippie in Versace? /It's all peace and love and limousines...). After falling in love with her, he sees that it's not worth it to fall in love with what you've seen a million times (It's like making love to a TV...), but his friends don't believe him (Your hangers-on say it's a great deal...).
I love the driving beat and how the song screams to be in either an episode of Scrubs or in a teen chick-flick. |
