I love this song.
I think it means that even after years of experience, of heartbreak, and of learning from mistakes, noone can have everything "figured out." Throughout our entire lives we're waiting for that moment of enlightenment, but we just have to keep living, and keep experiencing, because our outlooks on life and love are always going to change, and are always going to fluctuate from positive to negative. Its a very mellow song, and it can either be taken as sad or inspirational. I take it as inspirational, because when you feel lost and confused its comforting to know that even people who seem to have everything figured out are going to hit low points. Its just human nature. |

To me, this song is about recoiling and shutting yourself off from the world when things start to get tough. Trying to protect yourself from potential harm doesn't make you a coward..hence the "I'm not scared" The song is ironic because cutting all ties from the world blocks positive things as well as negative things. I disagree with the people who say that this song is different from other Guster songs. I think it is a typical Guster song. Demons..Careful..Keep It Together..Dissolve..Great Escape. All are about different ways of coping with troubles that people come across. |

This is my favorite Something Corporate song. Its pretty obvious what its about. A guy makes a big mistake, letting a girl he has feelings for kiss him. He is confused about what to do next, or what the kiss even meant. Does she have feelings for him or not? She probably thinks the kiss was meaningless, if she even remembers it. |

When I first heard this song, I was impressed by the overall sound of it. So it has a great first impression. However, this song really isn't that deep. How many songs are there about someone who feels lonely and confused at the end of a longterm relationship? Very cliche-y, but still a beautiful song. |

Although the music video has a theme running through it, I think this song can be applied to many different situations. I think its about demanding independence, and paving your own way in a corrupt world. Those who reach out to help you aren't always there for your sake. The only person who is 100% on your side is you. |

I agree. Mae cannot be defined as a "Christian" band just because the band members are Christians. And even if Mae was a Christian band, it does not mean they have to write about Jesus in every song, or that they cannot allude to sinful concepts, such as cheating. However, I don't think this song is about cheating.
This song hits pretty close to home for me, because I interpret it as someone who has a stable life, but can't help but dream about "something more." Its about someone who lives a restless and unsatisfying life. Wanting more doesn't make him a cheater. It is a very innocent, humanlike quality that I'm sure everyone has experienced. However, it still causes guilt. |
