You are right and wrong, Sully2018. While Hashem did help the Jews escape by empowering Moses with the use of the plagues, it was the strength and will of the people that ultimately made them free. Most Jews will teach, as I do, that Hashem gives man life, and He gives him power, but it is ultimately the free will of man to do with the power what he wishes. The slaves could have said "oh, but we'll never make it out...", but they didn't, they "chopped 'em down", e.g. the Pharoah and his armies, and then marched through the desert to freedom. Matisyahu makes me proud to be a Jew :) |

I had a lot of respect for Green Day when they were less political. Yes, the majority of the time our president is an idiot. And putting out one political song once in a while is alright, but two on the same album is just overkill. The line in this song that really pisses me off is when he says "zieg heil" as if to compare Bush to Adolf Hitler. 9 of my family members were murdered in Auschwitz during the holocaust and Hitler was a monster. Bush is not a monster, he's just not what I would call world leader material. If you want to compare someone of modern times to Hitler, try the president of Iran who pledged to eliminate all Jews and Christians in the middle east and who also stated that the world would be better off if the US didn't exist. Get a little smarter people, Bush is not even close to Hitler. |
