Allison Crowe – Hallelujah Lyrics 18 years ago
I just read a newspaper review of another version of Hallelujah, and it reminded me of this thread. I agree. Allison has Ani DiFranco as her model and she refuses to play the record label game. She's so hugely talented and gifted a musician she'll make it as a true independent.

Allison Crowe – This Little Bird Lyrics 18 years ago
Absolutely. In concert, she says this is the most "obvious" lyric she's written. One of her only straight-up love songs.

Allison Crowe – Whether I'm Wrong Lyrics 18 years ago
Allison Crowe has said this is her song for peace, and it's written about people not feeling they have a voice. It's about war. the environment, even personal issues where you feel alone.

Allison Crowe – Hallelujah Lyrics 18 years ago
"It's, as I say, a desire to affirm my faith in life, not in some formal religious way but with enthusiasm, with emotion.... It's a rather joyous song." That's what Leonard Cohen says about his song.

Allison Crowe is my favorite of many great versions!

"It's, as I say, a desire to affirm my faith in life, not in some formal religious way but with enthusiasm, with emotion... It's a rather joyous song." That's what Leonard Cohen has said about Hallelujah.

My favorite version is by another Canadian, the singer-songwriter Allison Crowe. It's such a great song, everyone that performs it brings something to it.
