i 100% believe what theyellowpoppy said. to me this song is about God and falling away from Him and then coming back. i wonder maybe if the lyrics were written to be vague because, to chris, it may have multilple meanings. |

this was the 2nd or 3rd song by DH that i had heard. (the first being "Tide Began to Rise") They started me on Christian Rock. This song reminds me of myself a little in the fact that i have a tendency to hurt someone and not know that i am doing it. and its helped me come to the realization that i cant live in the past. really the only thing i can do is apologize for the hurt, even if its worth nothing, and try to do better next time. Also, the chorus of this makes me thing of how we, as human beings, sinners, hurt Jesus everytime we sin. And to amplify the pain, he knows ahead of time that we are going to do it. When i first heard the chorus, a scene from Passion of the Christ popped into my head. The scene where Jesus looks down on the people while He is on the cross and asks the Lord to forgive them. I imagine myself looking up at him and begging for forgivness. so yea. i rambled. sry about that, guess i had alot to share about this song. |

this song means so much to me. a friend of mine was there in a time of need but instead of saying anything, she simply had me listen to this song. to me it has two meanings that are very intertwined into each other. the first is of the greatest friendship. its like, if you dont feel strong enough to face what the world throws at you, you have someone by your side to lean on who will never leave you. no matter what. until the end. I think that God comes into this song as well, because he IS the ultimate friend. He was there "right by your side" at the beginning, He is there now, and He will be there till the end. "If you ever need me You know where to find me I have never left you I'm where I've always been Right by your side" This is so true for Him. |
