The comment about the gay stuff makes a lot of sense. But my opinion is that it talks about expectations. [im rumored to the straight and narrow, while the harlots of my perils scream] there's something inside him that is trapped [ i just want to be me]and he cannot express himself because he's afraid he might disappoint his parents. But he finally he tells his mom that he is tired of him not expressing himself, and well, says bad stuff so his mom [shut my mouth and strike the demons, that cursed you and your reasons] she slaps him and she laments his future [ weep the years im missing] and the part of [ all the time cant be giving back] i think he tells that not always we can please our parents, sometimes we want to be what we want and not live by what they dictate us. and i think this song is telling his girlfriend to run away with him, go somewhere else where they can be themselves, free from expectations, of what others may say [ pick ur pockets full of sorrow......] and the last part : [no more promise no more sorrow, no longer will i follow] he's no longer promising , he will not disappoint anymore, he will not follow expectations. i identify a lot with this song , because my parents dont let me dress how i want to, or even have my hair my way. And they always expect from me things, it is so stressing. because you cannot live freely because they will always tell you its wrong. And i dont say anything to them because i might disappoint them. damn, whatever this song means: billy truly rocked |
