first off, this is probably the best nmh song. its got some really important lyrics, and very characteristic of mangum to make you wonder about what it all means, but yeah i definetly do see the anne frank reference, but the little spanish boy part i think just refers to reincarnation in general more than anything else. i also see a lot of reference to major unfortunate happenings in the history of the world, such as racism and of course the holocaust. i see a lot of refernece to anti-nazi movements when he sings about roses in their eyes and all. i also am aware that the parts about the comet is kinda like having a lot to do with heaven, in the early 90's there were all those people who were gonna ride haley's comet's tail or whatever. and linking on to the heaven reference there's this ominous vibe of suicide, about like guilt, and saying he didn't mean to make you cry, and about this "he" seeing the world from a star above you... that's how it's looking to me, but i think poeple have pretty much ripped this song apart and got all the meaning out. still, one of the greatest songs i've ever heard. |

one of the best band sout of portland. makes me love portland even more than i already do. i've seen the thermals five times live, and each time its the greatest night of my life. i cannot wait for MFNW, to see them at the crystal. they're the only band that can make me smile by just hearing any of their songs. the thermals are so great, so so so great |

i saw that too, about the nero reference and all. i wiated for over a year for them to ocme back to oregon, and when they did they played this song, and EVERYONE was like dancing and moshing and singing along. it was the greatest night of my life. i think this song is just fun, and justin is kinda just relating it all to his like drunk self? i guess haha
motion city soundtrack is, literally, my favorite band, hands down |

...wow okay, so a friend of mine burnt me revolutionaries volume 2 and then he added some extra I.T. stuff, and i really liked internally bleeding and freedom of speech. but i came across this track, and my mouth seriously dropped open. i couldnt even believe the impact of this song. it was the craziest thing ever. i mean, his mom...damn... i wanna know if it's ALL true, or w/e but then the part after the song, like, SUCH GOD LYRICS!! haha "my lyrics are dirtier than herpes, but harder to catch" makes me laugh everytime... but the thing about licking the syringe...wow... so gooood. i LOVE immortal technique, the GREATEST lyrics ever, hands down, the best. |
