| Dean Geyer – If You Don't Mean It Lyrics

I'd have to agree with *nemelcy*, for some reason this song can get a bit annoying but I do really like it and while its not hugely deep, I think there's a good message to it. People tend to say "I love you" way too quickly in a relationship and when they don't really mean it. I love (lol) the lines "Don't even want to talk about it, I know that I could live without it" because you can definitely live without it if they don't mean it! That just hurts way more than if they never end up saying it.
Girls-watch out for guys who say it just to make you trust them and think that it'll get you to go further physically...
Make saying "I love you" special, meaningful and selfless |

Brilliant song! Took me a little while to get into these guys but now I love them! I think the songs fairly self explanatory, I can't even find a favourite lyric to discuss, they're all so good! |

I didn't quite understand what this song was about until I looked here! Now it all makes sense!
I have to disagree with some of the comments that Switchfoot is no longer a good Christian band or if they are still a Christian band. I don't think that just because you're a Christian band means you have to sing about God all the time, doesn't everyone struggle with things like relationships, death, etc, even Christians? And I think for a Christian band to go mainstream is really cool, it means that other people get to hear some uplifting, thought-provoking, hopeful music in the midst of all the other sad, depressing, sleazy music thats out there (not that i think all non-Christian music is like that but a large majority!) I like to think (and I'm almost sure Switchfoot would too) that Christian music that gets played in mainstream is a powerful thing and hopefully people who listen to it will want to know more about Jesus. That's just my opinion, anyway... |

Yeah this is a great song, I love listening to it when its winter or when I'm kind of down because it always makes me think of summer and road trips and how much I would love to just take off somewhere just because I can! Unfortunately California is a bit too far away seeing as I live in Australia but we have great beaches here too! and maybe one day I'll make it to California |

Yeah I totally get that this song would be about a parent leaving but for me the chorus kind of has a different meaning. I tried to be everything my bf wanted (I tried to be perfect, tried to be honest
Tried to be everything that you ever wanted) but at the same time I tried to not be everything his ex girlfriends were (I tried to be stronger, tried to be smarter Tried to be everything but you). I ended up failing at both... but thats ok because I have learnt a lot and have realised even more that no matter how big or how often we fail God still loves us! |

I'd have to agree with luv4J, I always thought the song is about being in love with someone who isn't a Christian, well isn't one yet and if you really want to be with them you have to trust in God and wait for them to be "the one I'm waiting for". Thats the way I relate to it anyway... |

| The Fray – How To Save A Life Lyrics

I've only read a couple of the comments but I'd have to agree that its about someone who wants to help a friend get out of a bad situation but they may not have gone about it the right way and eventually lost this friend (either through death or just the loss of the friendship). While I love this song and can totally relate to it, it saddens me that this song offers no hope; it only makes us feel guilty that we were unable to save that person. What I'm trying to work on in my life is to not feel guilty if I can't save a life, its not my job, its God's. While we can do everything we can to help our friends ("staying up all night"), they eventually have to make their own decisions. Ultimately only God has the power to "save a life" and trusting in Him is the only way to make it through. |
