| Sabaton – The Final Solution Lyrics | 14 years ago |
|
As with most of Sabatons songs the lyrics are pretty straightforward. This one concerned with the persecuation and holocaust against the jewish people during World War II. On a note, it's one of Sabatons few songs that deal with a theme other than a specific battle, instead focusing on another aspect of the war. I really enjoy how they used the synth at the beginning of the song. |

| Metallica – Fade To Black Lyrics | 15 years ago |
| What is it with people and not getting the chronology in order. Fade to Black produced: 1984. Cliff Burton dying: 1986. Black Album: 1991. Ergo, unless Metallica are related to Nostradamus, this song has nothing to do with either event. It was in fact written after their equipment was stolen and Hetfield was depressed. | |
| Metallica – Nothing Else Matters Lyrics | 15 years ago |
| Wanna have fun with your fiancee, suggest Fade to Black as the wedding song. | |

| Metallica – The Unforgiven Lyrics | 15 years ago |
|
The more i listen to this song, the more i feel connected to it. I find this song to be about a person blocked from being himself through an opressive society dooming him into submission, his only choice to ponder the meaninglessness of his life. As a final act he brings his story to the world through this song ("the old man here is me"). Obviously, the lyrics leave alot up to interpretation...but that's what this site is for right? :-) |

| Metallica – The Day That Never Comes Lyrics | 15 years ago |
| More than about A relationship, I think it's a person haunted by MANY such relationships. Notice it says "God I'll make THEM pay", not him. | |
| Tom Waits – Burma-Shave Lyrics | 16 years ago |
|
//Anywhere you point this thing has got to beat the hell out of the sting of going to bed with every dream that dies here every morning// Those have got to be some of the best, most heartwrecking lyrics ever made. |

| Kaizers Orchestra – Dieter Meyers Inst. Lyrics | 16 years ago |

Admit me to your wing Admit me to the clinic I am sure I am mad They took everything I had Admit me, admit me to the clinic For I will never get back all that was It became like you told It became like you said Now you won't ever see me again And you were never mine But I am forever yours Admit me Doctor, tell the world I am sick You are my patron Give me a stamp at Dieter Meyers Institution And admit me I can't control weather I am awake or sleeping Rules upon rules proceeding in my head There you see, this is how it goes Look what has become of me No one no longer remembers me Give me back a piece of me Always take careful steps I'm half a man and it makes an impression You are my savior Thank you for your donation I must be admitted to Dieter Meyers Institusjon "Repeat from the beginning" A tale of someone voulenterily admitting themselves to a mental institution, possibly having gone mad from loosing a loved one (I am forever yours). |

| Tom Waits – I Hope That I Don't Fall in Love with You Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| Sometimes I actually picture this woman to be a figment of his imagination. I don't for a second believe that to be Tom's intention with the song, it just struck me one time and it stuck with me. | |
| Tom Waits – Martha Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| I can't ever listen to this song near other people, I tear up each time. It's so endlessly sad and truly one of the most heartbreaking and beautiful songs ever written. | |
| Sabaton – Cliffs of Gallipoli Lyrics | 17 years ago |
|
This song is about the Battle of Gallipoli from WWI. It took place between April 1915 and January 1916, and was an effort from the British Empire (mostly French and Australians) to capture Constantinpole (today this is the city of Istanbul). They did not sucseed and both sides suffered heavy losses. It is named after the Gallipoli peninsula. The song focuses mainly on the heavy losses suffered for no reason (from the band's perspective) and how dead soldiers are no longer enemies, but rememberd as heroes. |

| Sabaton – The Hammer Has Fallen Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| Hm, it strike me as kind of a "Hallowed be thy name" themed song, with a man awating the carrying out of his death sentence. Only a bit sader and less agressive. | |
| Sonata Arctica – The End Of This Chapter Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| Tony Kakko has said that the narrator in this song is Caleb from the Unia track. | |
| Edguy – All The Clowns Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| Second that, sad lyrics but a great song. | |
| Edguy – New Age Messiah Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| A lovely prank on the ignorance of the christian prophecy of a second coming. "One night they witnessed how he lit his backdoor winds, fire turned the night into day" pure evil genious:D | |
| Stratovarius – It's A Mystery Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| I guess there isn't alot to say about this song, it's fairly self-explanetory. I would like to know why they chose this subject for a song though. | |
| Edguy – Theater Of Salvation Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| While it may not be a anit-religion song, I feel this song is a more subtle attack on the older, stricter forms of religious power abuse and manipulation...kinda like The Kingdom but less graphic and like I said, more subtle. | |
