It is definitely about Elvis that is without a doubt. But one could interpret the words or certain lines for any southern gentleman with that certain *allure* that certain *charismatic* nature. ;) |

First off - the ACOUSTIC version is AWESOME. One Helluva gutar player...
Giving up, no longer having the patience to wait it out, for what eve, love...anything really, and in the process feeling as if you have died or at least a piece of you. |

Let me take a stab at this...I am probably off by a longshot of what the original intention of the lyrics are but here I go with my interpetation.
It could be that the person sees another as their othe half, their soulmate- for lack of a better term. their love for them is all that exists when they are together if any thing should happen to that connection , they will be crushed, broken, bent,etc...
I gave it a shot.;) |

I agree with you Glass Hammer. To me the song is about having enough of any given situation, being backed into a corner or up against the wall. Playing it nice and going with the flow for so long only to make others happy and now...it is enough. You thought that you could break well...hehe guess again. Plus the guitar is just so ominous....Rock on.. |
