ooo karen o! i love this song. what i think it means is a lover trying to leave her or take a break because of trouble in the relationship (at home). She's sort of warning him, like, "once you leave me, you are going to miss me. you may say that the road doesn't like me, and therefore you need to go off on your own, but the road is going to end eventually and its going to end right back on me. It's going to bring you back to me, and somehow, someway because I am a warrior, I am going to stay strong and believe this, no matter who tries to tell me i'm small, and tell me to forget you and get over it. I WILL MAKE YOU WANT ME." |

i think this song is talking about somebody's relationship that is starting to fall apart. he's trying to find out what her thoughts are and get her to speak what's on her mind so that they can work it out and fix whatever is happening between them. He's almost waiting for them to fall apart, he sees it coming, like a broken mirror (bad luck!) but all there is, is her silence. She wants out. He is falling forward, reaching for her, trying to get her back, as she walks toward the light (walks out the door, walks out of his life) He doesn't know how to handle it. He wants to get her back! He's desprately trying with his radio, by standing outside her window, wishing she was there, but she never comes. She was his first real love. She is all he knows, his life, his station, his song... |
