i think this song is anthony talking about how he doesn't think his band has really made it yet. "This place is dragging me down A hamster wheel I thought I'd be done by now Now that all my allies are gone I realize advancing can hold you back" basically saying that he always comes home to the repetitive hamster wheel that is his town. he thought he'd be able to have moved on by now. all of his friends who lived there have moved on by now and gotten solid jobs and whatnot. i'm pretty sure they formed their band at a young age, i think the last line here means that they advanced to going on the road before anyone else his age had anything going for them, but now they have more than he does (as far as he seems to see it). "My good intentions just keep sliding by the wayside But it's high tide and they get washed away with time Til everything's gone Til everything's gone" good intentions, meaning writing genuine music for himself and his fans. however his band is fairly unknown, so every time his band puts out a record, it gets overlooked among the thousands of bands out there (again, just as far as he seems to see it). his records are then "forgotten about" and washed away, along with the time he spent creating the music, until his whole life has been spent doing nothing but writing generally overlooked music. "All's fine along the Long Island sound But fine's polite I'd rather things more profound I've become a rock these days And I swim like one, alone again Barely surviving the tidal wave" says that everything's fine, but that's just putting it nice. he'd rather have things be going better than they are. the rest of this part is pretty self-explanatory, given the rest of my explanation. "I swear Damn it all to hell Damn it all to hell I think I finally found the way To go to heaven without dying So I'm on my way The harder you work, the harder you fall You wake up one day with nothing at all" damn it all to hell, meaning all of the things he feels he hasn't accomplished yet in life. he's found a way to go to heaven without dying, in that he makes music he loves, tours, and gets to play shows to rooms full of fans every night. he's on his way to his own definition of success. the last two lines are directed at all of the people in his town that grew up and job regular jobs, because they're working hard at jobs they probably don't enjoy. they'll one day wake up with no real life experience. |

I think this song is about a lot of the bands that are popular right now. "we're the ones who you paid to see a piece of my soul for your money and it's my job, to smile while pigs feast swallows slop out of the head of a crooked priest" This is blatantly talking about how EOTC play music from their heart and soul for a few bucks, while they have to sit and smile while kids are really just out there worshipping bands like Boys Like Girls and Forever The Sickest Kids. "a monster you sell is things like hell and they know not to ask, think or tell" Selling shitty music and destroying everything that the word integrity stands for, and the "they" is referring to the kids who listen to that music and how they don't search for any deeper meaning, or question anything. They pretty much take whatever is plopped down in front of them and eat it right up. The rest of that part seems pretty self explanatory. The chorus pretty much seems to be calling out the genre as a whole and telling them that it's time to move on, because the sons they're selling are empty and very fragile. The last line obviously being a slam on those bands, telling them that they are indeed very forgettable. I'd do the rest of the song, but I think I've made my point haha. |

| Acceptance – So Contagious Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| I think it's about him being in love with a girl that has a boyfriend already. It's like, he's all about this girl, but there are a lot of undertones of him feeling bad about it for some reason ("could this be out of line", "on account of my trangression", "i know it's crazy but I'm hoping to take a hold of you"). Just my perspective. | |

| My American Heart – Fantasy Lyrics | 18 years ago |

this might be a long shot here, but i'll try. i think the song is about the band.. if not the band, then maybe the person who wrote the lyrics and just a friend of his. but i'll just go with the band theory. i think good luck on no one's side is them seeing everyone around them not pursuing their dreams, especially the other local bands maybe? the place they found is in their music, possibly even in tour. there's the escape. the reference to finding their way back home is making it witht heir band. and the fantasy is the band, because it's better than anything they could imagine. i didn't really think any of this through, i just kind of let it flow with no editing. so don't bash on this too hard, i know it has a high potenial of being very wrong hahah. |

| This Providence – Wolf In Sheep's Clothing Lyrics | 18 years ago |

i used to think this was about a girl that lied to him, but then the fact was brought to my attention that this providence is a CHRISTIANS BAND. the more and more i thought about it, the song has got to be about satan. "Still you spin a web of lies, fear, lust, pride, greed, and shame" ^^all acts of sin. besides fear, but most people fear the devil; so it still makes sense. |
