| Imogen Heap ā Just for Now Lyrics | 18 years ago |

I haven't read other commets but, for me, this song is about holidays... It unfolds in a family reunion where there's someone who wants "peace" JUST FOR NOW (as long as the gathering lasts), kinda like the peacemaker, and there's someone who wants the whole thing to be over... I'd say the "mom" is the peacemaker and one of her daughters is the one not standing the reunion... It's that time of year (the holiday) Mom: Leave all our hopelessnesses aside (if just for a little while) Tears stop right here, I know we've all had a bumpy ride (Iām secretly on your side) (She's in her family members side in a discreet way since there might be some who doesn't want her there) Mom: (talking about a present she just got) How did you know? It's what I always wanted, Daughter: You can never have had too many of these Will ya quit kicking me under the table? I'm trying, will somebody make HER shut up about it? (Whoever gave the present is kicking the daughter under the table, getting mad over her insolence and shutting her up) Can we settle down please? (the mom's trying to keep everything in harmony) Bite tongue Deep breaths Count to ten Nod your head (The daughter is doing all this little exercises to maintain calmed even though she's hating being there) I think something is burning, Now you've ruined the whole thing Muffle the smoke alarm (Something burnt in the oven and the angry daughter is blaming the person cooking, the mom I assume, of ruining the holiday) Whoever put on this music Had better quick, sharp, remove it Pour me another Oh, don't wag your finger at me (The daughter is not standing the music, among other things, and is drinking to quicken the pace of the whole thing) Get me outta here (preatty obvious, the daughter wants out, from beggining to end of this song) --------------------------------------- Just my opinion.... |

| Imogen Heap ā Loose Ends Lyrics | 18 years ago |

Here's what it should say: Doing everything by halves You got a real flare with excuses Meeting someone at the bar Where loose ends still have uses It's complicated (this time I think it could be) Triangulated (it could be just what we need) So what you say we give it up and walk away We're overrated anyway We're kissing without kissing And got it down to a fine art Love's supposed to keep you young & frisky But we grew up and wide apart (tic toc tic toc) Not now, not ever, no it's never a good time How will the good times ever roll on? Comparing photos then and now now and then Just wondering (wondering) where it all went wrong It's complicated (this time I think it could be) Triangulated (it could be just what we need) So what you say we give it up and walk away Nothing to salvage anyway Want to, oh, need to, oh try to, oh none of the above Want to, oh, need to, oh try to, oh none of the above Want to, oh, need to, oh try to, oh none of the above Want to, oh, need to, oh It's complicated (this time I think it could be) Triangulated (it could be just what we need) So what you say we give it up and walk away We're overrated anyway It's complicated (this time I think it could be) Triangulated (it could be just what we need) So what you say we give it up and walk away Nothing to salvage anyway ----------------------------------- Now SincerelyMichael I don't know where that "Liar" goes... I've listened the song more than twice (understatement) and I can't hear it.... ----------------------------------- This song it's about (for me) a relationship that's been sinking for quite a while and she's suggesting that maybe they should go their separate ways saying they have nothing left to lose... The bit where she uses the song title (meeting someone at the bar where loose ends still have uses) she's saying that you can always start a conversation in a bar with a stranger talking about past relationships.... |
