When thing song was anoying the hell out of me when it came out and other people loved it, I always said that the song was about drugs. I'd never heard any other Uncle Kracker songs, and didn't know any of his history with drugs. But I swore this song was written from the point of view of the drugs themselves. Strangely, nobody else believed me. Must have been the innocent-sounding tune of the song. I'm glad that others here have presented the drug theory, because otherwise I'd think I just overthink lyrics too much, especially seeing as I don't particularly like the song. |
