Oh i agree with you zion rose. I get that interpretation too, it's a really strong song and i can relate to it. I think it's bloody awesome. However, i feel that way about all of them on this album! Tegan and Sara have made so many beautifully strong songs. |

I think it's about being hurt. Really badly..perhaps by 'her.' Wanting to let her know that this won't be forgotten, feeling that she and the hurt are close - surrounding her, suffocating her, have a firm grasp on her and it's painful, "I'm feeling it now and I feel like she's sleeping inches from me."
"I let it pass" I think it means it hurts but she feels she needs to move on.
Well that's just my interpretation anyway. |

This song contains a strange sort of...well contradiction in my mind. The stuff that is written about here, (I agree with the interpretations) seems so incredibly...erm, well i think it's a hard issue to deal with, to think about - the idea of a fading relationship, or loving your partner less than they love you. Yet the poppy, upbeat sound of the song makes the song totally random and strange as if almost to create a different message. I like it, i like the juxtaposition, i think it's been really well constructed. I think the way that you can take it as a light hearted song initially, but then (after looking into the meaning further) realise it's about a really difficult and heart breaking thing, gives the song levels and makes it so much stronger.
Well, just my ideas anyway. |

Man this song is so incredibly strong. It stirs emotions inside of me, it's just great. I can relate to it so strongly. I feel like it's about wanting to reach out to someone....feeling short of stable yet not wanting to bother them. I hear that.
"Curled on the floor hiding out from it all". Oh i hear that. |

I agree with Ms Tadakichi's interpretation - i feel that the song is about having feelings for someone but not being able to 'confess' it at that time..yet wanting signals in return. Perhaps i just took that interpretation out of it because that's how i felt at the time i was first exposed to it. Regardless, it is an awesome song. |

This song is perhaps more literal than alot of theirs, but i love it. I find it uplifting and i definitely relate to it, it has such strength to it. "Fine, tell them who you think you are. Fine, tell them fine is what you are."
Heh heh - It always makes me laugh though when tegan/sara (i don't know whose this one is) gets into the NO NO NONONONO..part. She does it so well, but i often wonder what compelled her to go so nuts in that part. |

I interpretted this song as being about new and perhaps forbidden love. Wanting to be with someone all the time, wanting to wake up with them and go everywhere with them. It's about acceptance of eachother and the relationship - "i just can't get it straight you see and oh well" and "i am fine by you". I can relate to the lyrics, "i won't tell one soul." I feel that's about perhaps a forbidden love, but also about commitment to the other person and the relationship. I think it's a beautiful illustration of new love. |
