Avenged Sevenfold – Brompton Cocktail Lyrics 18 years ago
This has got to be one of their best songs ever. The powerful meanings and awesome instrumentals combine to make a perfect song.

It has so many emotions through it. The subject is a person going to die, as already posted. He plans on dying soon, by lethal injection. So he's mixing up these brompton cocktails so his last hours can be happy.

He's disappointed and angry, because he's been fighting his disease so long but he failed. He's tried the cures the world has to offer and they didn't work, so he's lost faith in the world.

But he's also saying, "I know I've done wrong in my life, but if my god is as nice as they seem, they'll forgive me." This seems to be a direct response to someone who's criticizing the dying person for committing suicide. But the dying person is saying he has faith that God would forgive him for it, along with all his other sins.

So in the end, he's basically saying, "this world couldn't do anything for me, I hope my god can."

Avenged Sevenfold – Dear God Lyrics 18 years ago
This song is so strong... I tear when I hear it 'bout every time. It's got such a powerful meaning.
It's defiantly about missing someone you once loved, and it's like, "I miss (the person) so much, I wish I had them, but no matter what happens I hope they get the best."

And A7X is NOT a religious band. There's a difference between saying god and using the bible as an inspirational source and being a religious band. Here, god is a metaphor for fate, luck, whatever. And just because some songs (Chapter 4, The Wicked End) have to do with more western religion doesn't mean A7X is a Christian band. To say "anyone who uses the bible as a source is obviously a Christian" is like saying "all red fruits are apples." They just use the bible as a source for song lyrics. Which I applaud, being able to talk about Christianity without saying "I LOVE JESUS" every other line.

This is totally one of the most radical songs on the new album. They pulled some cool sound tricks too.

Anyway I just see it as our lives as a society are becoming less and less meaningful... which is right. Oh well.
