| A Tribe Called Quest – Scenario Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| wow, i had no idea busta rhymes sounded so much like Ol Dirty Bastard! is that him at the very last versE? seriously, who ripped whom? | |
| Black Flag – Spray Paint Lyrics | 17 years ago |
"It feels good to see the disgust in their eyes" haha this song does rock indeed. you know, when you're walking down the street with your punked looks, and all the suits pretend not to see you. |
| Cancer Bats – PMA 'Til I'm DOA Lyrics | 17 years ago |
Positive Mental Attitude 'til I'm Dead On Arrival (Canadian punk band). goes along with the band's overall BSOD theme |
| Cancer Bats – Pray for Darkness Lyrics | 17 years ago |
This is pure balls-out hardcore for a minute and a half. Sadly they won't play it live... mostly references to The Lost Boys, a movie about vampire punks. it's "party all night" in the movie but the timing doesn't work as well :) |
| Cancer Bats – Smiling Politely Lyrics | 17 years ago |
guest vox by Ben from Billy Talent. So kickass, Liam sang this by himself live and it was still infernally amazing. The last 30sec are just gut-wrenching guitar slides and slamming vocals. fuck. |
| Cancer Bats – Harem of Scorpions Lyrics | 17 years ago |
guest vox by Tim from Rise Against lyrics speak for themselves, s'about not wasting your time and giving life all you've got. grasping your dreams and fucking scratching and crawling until you get to them. |
| Cancer Bats – Lucifer's Rocking Chair Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| p.s. this song is heavily influenced by stoner metal- if you like this sludgy, pure headbanging shit check out Kyuss and Eyehategod. when they played this live you could feel the air thicken with the grit of scott's guitar and all you could do was bang your fucking head like it's 666... | |
| Cancer Bats – Lucifer's Rocking Chair Lyrics | 17 years ago |
Definitely about touring, traveling night and day, wrecking your life just to get somewhere. "Steady living the left hand"- left hand is the "sinister" hand, connected to the devil i.e. Lucifer. kind of a double-entendre, on the one hand he's being metal and fucking living it up like satan; on the other it's being on the left instead of the right, living for freedom and all that shit. |
| Cancer Bats – Deathsmarch Lyrics | 17 years ago |
Guest vox by Wade. To me this is about living in the city, barely getting by, taking shit every day. Pushing through the rough times with your friends. Also seems like it's about the band themselves and their years of hard work and touring, playing shows in a different city every night. |
| Cancer Bats – Sorceress Lyrics | 17 years ago |
yeah, should probably update the lyrics now that the album/booklet is out. guess this song is about a chick Liam used to know, screwed him over or something. this was one of the best songs live, holy fuck |
| The Sword – Winter's Wolves Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| Definitely about the war on nature that man has fought since he became "intelligent". the lyrics are spoken by Mother Nature or someone similar, describing how the various forces of nature are going to pwn civilization. | |
| The Fall of Troy – You Got A Deathwish Johnny Truant? Lyrics | 17 years ago |
glass smile, that's obviously about karen. she was a model and zampano cites like a dozen authors who write about how everyone's dying to see her smile. "Can you still see, what you first saw in me?" navy's relationship with her is faltering, blah blah the only star I remember from that book is karen's flashlight shining through the doorway |
| Horse the Band – Werepizza Lyrics | 18 years ago |
yes, from the bass solo to the ending is great I'm quite sure that's bass, could be the keys though |
| Cancer Bats – Shillelagh Lyrics | 18 years ago |
aw fuck, I've been saying "time to hang out" all this time pretty sure it's "black-eyes grin" |
| The Nightwatchman – House Gone up in Flames Lyrics | 18 years ago |
I love all the songs on this cd, anyone out there who can play guitar should be playing these in coffeeshops where they live. pretty sure Mr. Morello won't mind. it sounds to me like "take half the blame" instead of "to have the blame", anyone else think this? |
| City and Colour – Constant Knot Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| question about this song, anyone else have 2 versions of it? | |
| Cancer Bats – Let It Pour Lyrics | 18 years ago |
from the split EP with This Is Hell. Not sure what he shouts there are the end. the lyrics are pretty dark, I think the storm = tough time and you're just fighting through it, trying to ride it out |
| Wintersleep – Jaws of Life Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| they are getting bigger in Canada for sure, they are in the ECMAs at least. but they are a great example of an amazing, little-known east coast band :) | |
| Mogwai – Travel Is Dangerous Lyrics | 18 years ago |
I agree with you willie; not only the lyrics but also the instrumentation... the final line is delivered amidst a "sea" of flooding guitars and cymbals, and then the voices of the instruments slowly fade away as if sinking to the ultimate quiet of the deeps.... and to laurelin, good ideas but it must be a submarine. travel ships don't "surface" in the first place ("never surface again"). |
| Modern Life Is War – Marshalltown Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| oh durn underlined the wrong word hehe | |
| Modern Life Is War – Marshalltown Lyrics | 18 years ago |
definitely "staring just the way i used to" ¯¯¯¯¯¯ i like this song, it has a kind of harrowing sound, like walking the streets at night with nowhere to go. and the final line is great too. |
| Beastie Boys – Crawlspace Lyrics | 18 years ago |
I agree with Zoarse, but I find it a pretty humourous song. are all the vocals done by the 3? it's a weird voice at the first Also the Beastie Boys certainly did not invent hip-hop... they are the first notable white act though, and still the greatest IMO. pioneers indeed, especially in the use of samples |
| Beastie Boys – Egg Man Lyrics | 18 years ago |
it sounds more like "punk rock" to me rather than "puck rocks" The trigger I pulled, his face -- the yoke ^-- best rap line ever! |
| Cancer Bats – Grenades Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| hehe makes me wonder if Liam ever read any Auden ("we must love one another or die")... | |
| The Clash – Rudie Can't Fail Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| well as to The Clash being a ska-influenced band, this album is about as eclectic as it gets anyway. I'm sure nobody would call them a jazz band, but take a listen to Jimmy Jazz. likewise with Brand New Cadillac; it seems pretty surf to me. that's what I love about London Calling... | |
| Beastie Boys – The New Style Lyrics | 18 years ago |
nevermind. Urban Dictionary to the rescue! for anyone else who didn't know, "A girl said to be cattin' in(sic) one who lies to and cheats on a man". |
| Beastie Boys – The New Style Lyrics | 18 years ago |
feel the beat....... mmm drop?? what does it mean that my girlfriend is "cattin'"? |
| Feist – The Mast Lyrics | 18 years ago |
i looove how the guitar builds up. and everything else about this song too.. and rose it is called Monarch, but it went out of print a while ago. so the only copies you can get are used or off the internet. maybe they'll do a re-release some day. |
| Simian Mobile Disco – Hustler Lyrics | 18 years ago |
great song. even better vid ;) singer sounds pretty young |
| Rage Against the Machine – I'm Housin' (EPMD cover) Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| yeah tv makes since. first thing that came to my mind was a dong. | |
| Incubus – Aqueous Transmission Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| enchantingly beautiful... this song is the reason i took up the shakuhachi. and the peepers at the end remind me exactly of lying on my front lawn in the summer, staring up at the stars and listening to the wildlife. | |
| Cancer Bats – Grenades Lyrics | 18 years ago |
Be Sweet Or Die |
| Alexisonfire – Get Fighted Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| just saw them at Gothic Arches, and yeah it's pretty clear what this song is about, even without george's little speech on it. It was the bomb! | |
| Cancer Bats – French Immersion Lyrics | 18 years ago |
haha that could be true, they're from toronto "Take back the bonds that break us Take back the oaths we swear Take back to make things right" ^could be a reference to the messed up agreements with quebec. or it could just be about their lifestyle. in any case, saw this live and the moshing was fucking primal! |
