man, i would've kicked him around a bit rather than breaking his nose. haha i think the song is great, along with 505 is one of my favourites (i cant choose, i like the whole cd). i get this whole feeling from this album, i love it. they really evolved from their last album, his lyrics are amazing. |

well it looks like insulting his own music, excusing himself, i have read that he used to think he was horrible at making lyrics, singing and he basically had to be forced to sing in the band because he was insecure about it. but then again it seems like he's talking about critics or him being his own worse critic: "Frightening honesty isn't enough" he talks about current criticism "it's nothing on the early stuff." as if saying their first few songs were shit or considered so. i really am not sure lol. |

this is one of my fav song of theirs. ever. obviously its about being on the road, away from a loved one. seems like he's trying to say that he's been away so long he thinks it's going to end soon, theyre never together long enough and usually its not satisfactory enough on "it seems that once again you've had to greet me with goodbye" and "I'm always just about to go and spoil the surprise Take my hands off of your eyes too soon" I wouldn't say that the bit about the girl waiting with her hands between her thighs is of obvious sexual connotation, that is really a way some women lie in bed, although it is usually related to sexual behaviour but in more of a body language situation. Same with the smile, it could be she's expecting him and happy about that. i guess i wasnt the only one moved with the bit "but i crumble completely when you cry" must be the way he sings it, really its just so haunting |
