This might seemed far fetched but... i think this song is projected through the eyes of one of the workers on board of the Titanic, during the tragic day it sunk... Who's in a bunker? Who's in a bunker? (On a ship, that's where the fuel is stored, and also where the crew worked to power the breakers, propeller, etc.. ) I'll swallow until I burst Until I burst (the dust, smoke from the breakers, engine, water when it sinks, etc) Women and children first Women and children first (order which they got on lifeboats) Ice age coming Ice age coming (the iceberg, the freezing water consuming the people and the ship) We're not scaremongering This is really happening Happening We're not scaremongering This is really happening Happening Mobiles skwerking Mobiles chirping (self explanatory, no one thought it would happen, but the ship would sink and all the cargo below would smash around as the ship sank) Take the money and run Take the money and run (People trying to pay their way to safety, to get a boat) And at the end of the song, the lyrics Here I'm allowed Everything all of the time Here I'm allowed Everything all of the time (repeated a lot and I think it's because the ship sank consuming all those workers, all the rich peoples possessions, all the fine things, the ship, the people... and the workers below are kind of like allowed to have it all, all to themselves at the bottom of the ocean, it's finally theirs) The song title itself "Idioteque" maybe them being stupid for not making the ship safer... |
