Honestly i started getting into Regina when i heard this song; i was at a tattoo & piercing shop in the waitingroom when i started to hear all these Regina songs & i fell in love with her voice when i was getting my piercing done this song came on & i had to ask who it was singing & the girl who was doing my piercing was like its Regina Spektor, i honestly fell in love with Regina from that point on ;) i think like everyone else said it could be about childhood or how you do something everday to were it bores you but you cant really do anything about it you just keep doing it hence when she says "I want to sing another melody So different from the one I always sing... Is yearning to get out" she wants to do something new than what shes used to doing & shes cant wait to get out to try to find what she wants. |

oh gosh i love this song! its really amazing & very catchy. I can totally relate to this song maybe not so much to trying to get a friend to remember of all the good times while they're in the hospital cause they OD'ed but just to the whole doing things for awhile cause you think its what you want but then you try something else & you move on & so on & so forth& just to have someone go through those life changes,experiments,or memories with you makes it much more memorable to say to some"hey remember that time when..." & I also agree with what "7of9" said about the cigarettes every smoker goes through the changing of brands. overall this song is amaziinggg. i love Regina. ;) |

honestly i don't know what this song is about i want to say how its about how she loves the music business & shes living her dream but at the same time she misses her normal life; her family her friends, her home hence the title road to home idk its just my take one it i could be wayyy wrong. |
