These are purely my opinions and the views expressed herein are not necessarily the views of the band members. "What's the matter, why don't you answer? What's the matter with me?" This Line, I believe is an insecure pedophile asking his victim why she doesn't love him. "It is so hard to be Free and easy, we'll disappear completely Hardly as I've known it's glad." Maybe it's so hard to be free and easy because to be free and easy she'd have to break free of the restraints. And that's hard. By saying we'll disappear completely he might be saying I'm going to hide you where no one can find you. I have no Idea about the last line. "There's brighter places to see" This might refer to the dark basement he's keeping her in. "Hands need warning, early in the morning Hardly as I've known a surprise" First of all, I thought the word was "warming" and It makes more sense to me this way because he might be keeping her in a cold place. but maybe he's molesting her early in the morning and she is warning his hands to keep away. Due to his past experiences with this he is not suprised by this. "No, don't warn me I know it's wrong, but I swear it won't take long" This line is obviously supports my viewpoint. The way I see it, he is apologetically raping her. "And I know, you know, It makes me sigh; I do believe in love" Sighing could be a euphemism for moaning. By saying "I do believe in love" I think he is waiting, or hoping for Stockholm to set in. "Another season, but the same old feelings Another reason could be I'm tired of aching, summer's what you make it" He's had her there for the spring season and no stockholm. It could be her saying "I'm tired of aching" because of her restraints, abuse, etc. And I believe he is saying "The summer's what you make it" as if to say "Make the best of what you have, maybe you'll start having fun" "But I'll believe what I want to believe" He wants to believe that Stockholm is setting in. And he plans to keep her there until it does. FYI: I'm not a sick person. I'm just interpreting what meaning I hear in the song. I'm only sixteen for god's sake. |
