im not a huge FOB fan overall, but i'm definately a huge IOH fan. i heard this song for the first time yesterday. i didn't know it existed. i put timbaland's album on my ipod but never listened to it. so when my shuffle came across this song and i heard patrick stump, i had to stop in my tracks and take a look at my ipod screen to figure out what in the world was playing. the first thing that caught my attention was the fact that Patrick said "Fucking." i was like "whoa, patrick said the F word!" lol. maybe he has before in some early FOB stuff i've never heard but it was the first time i heard him say it. anyhow, i love the song already after only hearing it twice! |

"roses" are the family members that come to see his grandmother [I smile when roses come to see me] things are still looking bad but he's trying to be positive around 'chick', his grandmother [My momma say they say she could pass away any day Hey chick, what these doctors know anyway?] the whole family is there cheering 'chick' on to pull through [Cousin Kim took off work. Plus my aunt Shirley, aunt Beverly, aunt Clay, and aunt Jean So many aunties we could have an auntie team] 'chick's' gonna be ok and everyone's happy [When they said that she made it you see they eyes gleam I think we at an all-time high] again, instead of flowers, they send "roses" aka family [So instead of sendin' flowers, We the roses] This is another powerful song from Kanye. It demonstrates how family orientated he is and how close his relationship is with his grandmother. It also shows how encouaging family can be. |

although not my top favorite, i feel this is ne-yo best song on the album, lyrically, musically etc. he gave his all into his relationship only to find out he was being played. now the girl is trying to act concerned and he's telling her to "please don't worry 'bout me i'm fine." a sad song but powerful. |

| I didn't like this song at first. But it definately grew on me. Even though it came out a while ago by now, i still things its a nice song. T-Pain, just like everyone says, is singing about falling for a girl so hard that it changed his behavior. Hehe, it's funny cuz I can somwhat relate to the feeling. But anyhow, this song gained even more meaning when I read that the song was a true story, that T-Pain had really fell for a girl and the song was written for her. In fact, he married the girl the song was written for! What a story! | |
