"Your eyes are the size of the moon" reminds me A LOT of an fob lyric, I didn't notice it until someone pointed it out, but I find it funny. |

| The Academy Is... – Bulls in Brooklyn Lyrics | 18 years ago |
|
I just want to say I'm in love with this song. XD I like the music itself so much, it reminds me of something I've heard before, but idk what. I think it may just have an old feeling. "Some people have it And other people don't You've been making some threats Got my name and address" tai haters, haters in general. they always talk behing your back about what they're going to do, but when they have the chance nothing happens. "Though I'm wearing my clothes Feeling cold and exposed" to me, that's the feeling you get when people talk about you. it makes you self-conscious. "Don't say you miss me You probably don't Well I've been crossing some lines That most folks won't" this person is fake, they're nice to your face, but behind your back they basically try to grill you. maybe most people are afraid of this person, they're in a position of social power. "Don't think you're more than this Or above all this With your blah, blah, blah And all your friends Don't say you think you know When you know you don't" they like to gossip, they pretend they know everything, but inside they know they don't. they're just doing this to get points with people. "Cause tonight the bulls are in Brooklyn And you're still at home" the bulls are from chicago, so is tai. and everyone knows wherever they are is the place to be (roflmao@myself), but this person isn't there, and probably wasn't invited. |

| The Academy Is... – Sleeping with Giants (Lifetime) Lyrics | 18 years ago |
|
this song is kinda obvious to me, but I may be wrong. [I'm not gonna do this is any kind of order] "Of sleeping with giants Of modern mankind with their egos of fire" "giants of modern mankind" to me is US royalty, celebrities. and the "egos of fire" thing, well, of course celebrities have egos of fire, I have someone in mind, but I'm not gonna go there. "Your eyes wide The always ahead of the curve type Quiet and confident We stood there Awkward and youthful, we tangled" I'm not really sure what this is about, but I'll take a crack at it. maybe this is about the person who discovered them...? at least, that's how it comes off to me. I think the eyes they were talking about was about the people who believed in them all along, maybe the fans, maybe not. I think the "tangling" has something to do with whoever bought them into the music industry, and the lifestyle that comes along with it. "It's been a lifetime A lifetime I've waited for A simple question, kid Are you with me or not at all?" I think "lifetime" is an exaggeration. it seems like they've been waiting forever to get this big. the "kid" might be them, having to make a decision about going through with their dreams, and leading a life in the industry, or just stinking to playing music for the fun of it, and not having to worry about anything else. that might be wrong, but I didn't want to do another interpretation about a girl and a guy falling in love. |

| The Academy Is... – Almost Here Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| to sweetmelissa: I think "pushing my seat back" might be his friend getting up to clap, and that's why he's swallowing his pride. I think most of this song was in his friend's point of view... but idk. | |
| The Academy Is... – Almost Here Lyrics | 18 years ago |

I think it is about how their friends changed after they got big. I think this part says it all: Hey, hey now we're almost home. I'm missing you to death, but it's all for the best, I know. Hey, hey we're not far from home. I've got my pride, and I'll let you sleep tonight. Hey, hey now we're almost home. I'm missing you to death, missing you to death. Oh... Hey, hey we're not far from home. I'll swallow my pride and push back my seat tonight. I'm on my feet... idk, I'm probably totally wrong, but it seems like it's about them being on tour, and getting closer to home. and the closer they get the more the friend has to admit they were wrong and that they are successful. it goes from just missing them, to noticing them getting better, to them reaching a high point in popularity (like "I'm on my feet" meaning you're giving a standing ovation). |
