This is PTH's best song. Lyrically, it's the strongest on Kezia and musically, it has the most infectious melodies PTH has ever written. From the spoken word section to the almost epic ending, it's just brilliant. |

It does kinda sound like he's saying Slutjammer. "Comin down on me like a sledgehammer" could mean "goin down on my penis like a slut" |

| The Doors – Light My Fire Lyrics

Try now we can only lose
And our love become a funeral pyre
Come on baby, light my fire
a pyre is a heap of combustibles for burning a corpse as a funeral rite. I think Jim's saying that it's inevitable that any love that can exist in a persons life will die out, and he's comparing it to a funeral pyre and telling her to just set fire to it now because it's not going to last. |

| The Fall of Troy – A Man. A Plan. A Canal. Panama Lyrics

halloweentown, you're an idiot. I know that someone stated earlier that this palindrome is taught in school, but just because the title is based on the history of something doesn't make it unoriginal. It's not like the person documenting the construction of the canal said, "K, uh, we're just gonna label this point in time "A Man. A Plan. A Canal. Panama." |

This song means finally realizing that life isn't all about material possessions, and that, if it could, Corporate America would shove advertisements and products down your throat long after you died. |

Kostonkiller, I agreed with what you were saying until you called Metallica ''bigger than Jesus'' and then continued to say ''gosh they're just people''. That's pretty much a blasphemic and contradictory statement, and your grammer is terrible. |

skye_bird, you are an idiot. Of course people will make a connection to religion cuz Max sings the words "Jesus Christ" about 50 times in the fucking song! And the Jesse Lacey comment actually makes sense now that I think about it. I like both Say Anything and Brand New, and it's sad that there's bad blood between the bands. Could someone elaborate on that whole Something Corporate/New Found Glory subject? |

| Green Day – Favorite Son Lyrics

I don't think this song is directly about Bush. I believe this song was actually the closing track on American Idiot in Japan, so I think this song is supposed to tie in to the albums storyline. Maybe after all is said and done, Jesus becomes a politician (a favorite son is a candidate supported by the delegates of his state at a presidential nominating convention, as 1000BrokenHearts stated) and even though his friends are anti-establishment punks, they still have to somewhat support Jesus, because he means something to them. |

| Fall Out Boy – I'm Like a Lawyer with the Way I'm Always Trying to Get You Off (Me and You) Lyrics

Ok, I was a big Fall Out Boy fan when "From Under The Cork Tree" came out and once I heard about "Take This To Your Grave" and "My Heart Will Always Be the B-Side to My Tongue", I rushed to get those, too. Then once Fall Out Boy became extemely popular, my friends (who mostly listen to guys like Job For A Cowboy and The Devil Wears Prada) started busting me about liking them so much. So I don't really know if that's the reason I really didn't like "This Ain't a Scene, It's an Arms Race" and "Thnks Fr Th Mmrs" or if it's that I just honestly think they are horrible songs. That's why I was convinced that I was never going to buy Infinity On High. That's until I heard "I’m Like A Lawyer With The Way I’m Always Trying To Get You Off", which I think is a great song. So I get an iTunes gift card for Christmas and I go to the iTunes store thinking I'll buy "I'm Like A Lawyer.." but then I start wondering whether or not the rest of the album is actually as good as this song. Now I kinda want to buy the whole thing and give it a try. I also know that this isn't close to explaining what this song is about but I just want somebody to give me a legit reason for me to go and buy this CD. And don't give me any "o yea u shuld def. buy this CD cuz FOB rox" because that just tells me that you know nothing about music at all. I would really appreciate it if someone could give me an intelligent answer to whether I should buy Infinity On High or not. |

Yep. The first time I read the lyrics to this song I thought of Max having a sexual experience with a Priest or Pastor, etc. I'll be the first to tell you that I don't follow the goings-on of the Jewish religion, so I don't know if Reconciliation is a part of it. But lines like "does this confession turn you on?" and "you think you're Jesus Christ", plus other seemingly sexual lyrics tell me that he's talking about some sort of Catholic Priest/young boy relationship. I really don't know what that has to do with the story line, so I'm not very confident that my thoughts are correct. |

dicl0, you're absolutely right. I posted that because I'm just sick of seeing those comments on every single page. I just wish there was some way to put a warning sign on the top of each Sum 41 page saying "WARNING: songs may resemble those from Blink 182 and/or Green Day." That way people won't have to waste their time stating the obvious. |
