By the way: 1) I am really open-minded, and am definitely open to any and all other theories or interpretations. That is simply just something I have wondered while listening to this song. 2) I like what both Vidacious and platinum said. When I read what Vidacious said, I almost felt as if he/she was maybe thinking along the same lines as me. And I liked platinum's interpretation. :) 3) I don't think we will ever know what the meaning is for sure, unless it's creator states it outright. |

| I have wondered if "Why do we build castles in the sky?" is really asking: Why do we have false hope in God, Heaven, etcetera? It is just as possible, if not more so, that those things do not exist than it is possible that they do. Realistically, they can not be seen or proven. Yet, people believe in them wholeheartedly, Maybe just so they can feel better about life and death? "Build castles in the sky" could mean a belief in "Heaven", while also saying that it is unreachable, unrealistic, and/or impossible. Maybe? | |

| Yes this song is about the overdosing. *sigh* Fall Out Boy... I used to think they were good. But then I really thought about it... and really looked into their lyrics. | This is a great song. I'm a girl, but I know what it's like to have the best intentions and have few guys give me the time of day. And time and time again I have seen good guys get shafted cuz the girl wanted a bad boy, or the a$$hole jock, etc. I'm sure you know the type I'm talking about. I just now heard of this song on another site. And I think it's repulsive and so rude. This is the "typical guy" people talk about. This song is clearly about sex, and he just wants to get into her pants now that she is of legal age. I'm not going to take these lyrics any other way. I would never date a guy who was like this... and I'd never want my daughter to date a guy like this. I just think it's rude with "daddy's little girl is ready baby"... the lyrics sound like he is pressuring this girl into having sex with him because she is 18 now. Now.. I could be way off... but that is EXACTLY how it comes off to me. And it disgusted me, because I actually like Jesse McCartney's song "Beautiful Soul", I thought it was so sweet. But then he comes out with this? |

| Rihanna is so talented. I love her songs like this. They are beautiful and show off her vocal talent. She's wonderful. I know this is probably aimed at a guy... but I'm in a battle of overcoming an eating disorder, and I think if anyone else out there knows how that is, you could see how this could easily be applied to that. | |
