I've actually heard someones story about how they were seriously into drugs, did a load of acid at a party, and woke up realizing they needed to turn to Christianity for help. As much as this song is literally about that incident, I agree that it talks about how one incident can change someones life. |

The lline... Of all the churning random hearts Under the sun Eventually fading into night, These two are opening now ... struck me right away because it fits so well into the 'story' Mercer said this album was. 'Pam Berry' debatably could be an intro to 'Phantom Limb' and that song, of course, doesn't fit into the story. It always seemed to me that 'Phantom Limb' was a bit of an intermission and that this line beautifully led us into act ii of the story. |
