i think it's about a reltionship gone wrong. For so long she's been in love with the idea of who she thinks he is but eventually reality dawns upon her. She realizes he never cared for her the way she thought he did and that their relationship was based on a fantasy in her head. Then one day she sees the light and him for who he really is.
"Lying naked on the floor" could mean that she's vulnerable in front of him, her feelings stripped bare and laid out for him to ridicule.
"I'm all out of faith" could refer to the fact she no longer trusts her heart. It was her heart that led her to believe this man was someone he wasn't and now she doesn't believe in her judgement.
Now that she's "wide awake" she can see the relationship for the scam it was. "The perfect sky is torn" means she no longer sees a future for them. The sky represents the horizon - the future that's shattered just as her dreams have been. |

i think this song is quite bitter and angry. About a relationship where the girl isn;t being treated right. Afterwhile she's sitting there thinking it through and it dawns on her that she doesn;t have to put up with him. Even though she still loves him, she's tired of it. maybe she realizes that staying or leaving will both bring hurt but she's better off leaving him. And she's angry at the way he's treated her. |

I can relate to this song. For me it's about not wanting to let people down. Sometimes people expect so much from you and you're so scared of letting them down the smallest flaw is blown way our of propertion really bringing you down, "You cry, but you don't tell anyone". You don't want to let them down so you keep your misery to yourself, instead masking it behind a smile. But inside everything is spiralling downwards more and more. The person you see as yourself has everything little fault magnified and dwelled upon whilst the good bits are ignored. Inside you're falling apart but you don't let anyone else see it lest you disappoint them that you're not really as perfect as they think. I know that sometimes you've just got to put yourself above others but it's easier said than done... |

I can' listen to this song without it bringing tears to my eyes. My bf gave it to me to try and explain how he was feeling and well this song just seems to say it so clear. To me it's about someone who's depressed and is trying to reach to tell someone how he feels but can't find the right words. He's lost, confused and hurting, just wanting someone to understand his pain. This song really helped me understand what my bf was going through and help him. Amazing song really. |

i think this is a song about not belonging. To me, it seems as if the guy is almost out of sync with the rest of the world. (I held my hands, never knew how to act). Whilst the rest of the world is moving at a fast pace (sirens ring, the shots ring out, A stranger cries, screams out loud) he's just standing there watching the homeless man. It's like he's not caught up with everyday things but notices the small details in life. The last two lines add to the sense of not belong as he's leaving - just like the homeless man did from a world where he didn't fit in. But that's just what i think. |
