Human, as in "human race"
Dancer, as in "dancer race"

In plurality it would be...

Are we humans? Or are we dancers?

It's a more meaningful, just as
"It's one small step for man, one giant leap for mankind."

Rather than individualizing, it becomes representative of the whole.

If you can't feel the meaning of the song, you must first do a background check. The chorus was inspired by a quote. Also, keep in mind Flowers faith. So with that, do your own research!

Here is my interpretation:

Despite what the original quote meant, it's actually backwards in the song.

The Human race, is that it? Are we JUST human beings with no purpose? OR are we dancer? Are we a race of expression, and beauty and meaning? Are we a part of something cosmic? An entire universe in harmony? A divine dance amongst the stars?

Verse 1: Witness of Birth
Verse 2: Death
Bridge: Reminiscence/Correspondence
Chorus: Question of Existence

As I have noticed, most people do not truly question existence but rather live based on a series of basic human desires, and structure. However, when we witness birth or death in person we then begin to testify to question. Suddenly we see beauty, and we feel emotions that go well beyond the realm of happy/sad. Those who do dedicate themselves to faith, maintain a correspondence to the world only usually never to hear again from the blank crowd they emerged.

The purpose I believe this song serves is that we should dance. When the music plays, dance, and do it without question. At minimum our purpose is, we should not be humans to the music, but dancers.

Personally, I see this piece as global conflict. your people are splattered on the wall, and with those blood stains, eyes are opened and suddenly people's minds are in the right place. Suddenly nothing else can touch you because though the life has faded, the colors stand, thus the circle is complete.

It's possoble they could talking about life in music, but I doubt that. It's also possible they could be making a statement about world events, once again I don't think so. It's possible it could be about a bad drug trip, again, I doubt it. But I do know, I'd be deeply disturbed and unhappy if no one bought thier albums. By the way, this is not at all Techno, it is a form of Trance called Psychedelic Trance a.k.a. Psytrance.

"Mind the Gap" is a sign that is extremely common in the london underground. It can be found in other transit systems. With those words I believe they are pretty much saying prepare for the ride. In 1996 is when the duo actually met each other. This indeed was a breakthrough but not until 1998 when "The Gathering" was released. Personally, I think the "revolution" also might have something to do with the political situations in Israel - Where the government stopped worrying about shutting down parties as they figured people were safer at parties than at home due to violence and such.

Regina Spektor – Fidelity Lyrics 18 years ago
She never loved anyone and thus became married to her music. But by playing it, the music infiltrates the ears of others who also fall in love with it, thus the music is unfaithful to her, but it is her fault for the infidelty because she wrote and played it.
