| Radiohead – Morning Mr. Magpie Lyrics | 14 years ago |
| magpie can also be defined as a collector or hoarder of small objects. in another thread, someone posted a nice interpretation that suggested the song is about the information age. tweets, headlines, the corporate media simplifying things and the effect of that on peoples ability to focus, rationalize anything deeper then this cheap level of intellectual existence. it's killing all his magic and taking his memory. | |

You've got some nerve coming here. You've got some nerve coming here. You stole it all, give it back. You stole it all, give it back. Goodmorning Mr Magpie, how are we today? Now you've stolen all the magic and took my melody. You know you should, but you don't. You know you should, but you don't. Goodmorning Mr Magpie how are we today? Now you've stolen all the magic and took my melody. |

| Nine Inch Nails – Echoplex Lyrics | 17 years ago |

i think he's using a dark-humoured type of irony in this song. there's him, the psychological vampire beast fighting the resistance, and of course the listener. 'nice and high and far apart' -yep, sure am 'i built this place with broken parts' -yep, sure did you chip away the old version of you you know, you'd be surprised at what you can do.. anyways, i'm safe in here irrelevant just like they said (irony) you feel me breathe i am watching you i see it all the many ways you cant get to me i see it all i see the hell you put yourself through all the things i could do if i wanted to (like a dumb, slimy, deceitful, demon on the outside of a door trying to look into the peephole to see inside so that it may learn his ways so that it may decieve him) i think a lot of the pre-ceding interpretations are pretty much on the right track. im not sure the slip is a sequel to yz but i see a lot of parallels and this song fits. if year zero outlines the beast (ex. the greater good), echoplex solidifies trents absolute rejection of it, drawing a line between it (the beast) and trent. the evil beast may win the battle, but it will never ever win the war! |

| Radiohead – Like Spinning Plates Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| The song is about the world's suffering children. The manipulation of the vocals gives emphasis to the lack of voice that they really have. It also makes it that much more powerful. | |
