I think that the line with the ? is actually "Every time I breath, she jumps up someone's ass" like the person is a controlling freak. |

I think that this song tells the story of a band that makes it big in six months, however, instead of taking the whole band they want only one member. The band doesn't understand why he would do this, a common issue that happens to bands pointed out by the "What they don't understand..." lines. They don't get that this is the only other way for him to advance in life instead of being a loser. A lot of people probably think, jee, that's pretty shitty giving up your band, but how would you feel if you were in the middle of Bumfuck, Nowhere and you got offered a huge deal? That's right you'd probably take, and in the end it's the best decision for you even if nobody else can understand. |

Personally, I don't see why people are arguing about which version is better. Catch-22 is obviously supposed to have a garage feel too it while SLM's recordings of everything are cleaner. The bands may have the same singer, but that doesn't mean they're going to be the same style. |

Man, I like this song. I find it quite catchy. Also, Kid Rock isn't really a singer, he's a rapper. Rappers and singers are totally different, and singers who write their own shit are even more talented than rappers. |

Actually, I don't think it's a "shout-out" to DB Cooper. He says, "Every DB Cooper and the money he took". I believe he means all the crooked IRS agents and things that acted like DB Cooper, meaning the stole money and they got away with it. |
