Zebrahead – Rescue Me Lyrics 18 years ago
This song practically MADE the game S.L.A.I. (Steel Lancer Arena International) worth playing. I've stomped SO many asses listening to this song.

Very good underground band, though. Love their sound.

This song is mainly about being pissed off at so much shit going on in the world, and nothing being done about it. Finally wondering if maybe telling people 'Hey, the world is still beautiful, let's go out and make it that way' is a lost cause on this Generation X bullshit.

In my opinion, it isn't. The world's still a beautiful place. Open your eyes and see it.

The Offspring – Come Out Swinging Lyrics 18 years ago
This song reminds me a lot about my high school days.

The illustration for this song in their album is a kid sitting in his room, pounding his head, remembering everything that happened in his head as his inner demons come from his head, clenching a fist, telling him to fight back.

This kid is always being tormented just for being himself (no, he's not gay), not hurting anybody, and even when confronted, just 'braces and holds it all inside', but his narrative tells him 'Don't turn away! Don't turn away! Come out swinging!' his inner voice telling him to fight back; and fight back hard enough, ignoring pain, (you may be stinging, but you'll get by.)

This kid keeps getting confronted

About halfway through:
Midnight, no sleep
Inside, you scream to
No one, hears you fall
Daylight, prove me today
One more try

This is when the kid gets confronted at school, probably by a group of bullies/jocks/assholes and he backs off, goes home, and 'the scene replays a million times, stuck inside your head', and he keeps reminiscing, until he decides what to do.

And the next day, the same thing happens, he gets one more try to prove himself, and to prove that he's not going to take it lying down.

And comes out swinging, 'the pain inside' guiding his way.

Again, reminds me a lot of my high school days, although I never swung back. Should have, though.
