| umm MAYBE if he had fixed the pipes every once in a while, and hey, how about dusting so the lamp isn't MISCOLORED? Or maybe you could mow the lawn before the 20TH FREAKING TIME I ASKED YOU. Or how about a little bit of personal hygiene? Maybe washing your hands clean so it's not full of FILTH AND GERMS WHEN YOU TOUCH ME would be nice. GOD. SERIOUSLY. | |
| Hanson – A Minute Without You Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| This song is clearly about time travel. They make this very clear in the lyric "when a week goes by you know it takes my breath away" because time travel is VERY hard of the respiratory system!!! I'm confused, however, as to why hanson only went back one week. What did they need to fix? I personally would want to go back to the revolutionary war and root for america. not in the austrailian sense, of course, I would just like to cheer for them. Also i would bet on America, most people were probably betting for England so i would probably make a lot of money that way. I'm not sure what the exchange rate would be with money today, but maybe hanson would know. | |
| Hanson – Yearbook Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| I personally talked to Taylor about this song. I asked him what the mystery was, and he told me not to tell anyone because it's a very well-kept secret. I will however tell you guys, cause you're my friends. The song is about a boy named Johnny who started wearing an invisibility cloak. All the time. When they took his picture for the yearbook you couldn't see anything! No one could ever tell where he was. They begged him to stop wearing it, especially his girfriend Jamie, his sister Katie, and a girl he didn't know, Amy (she was particularily persuasive), but no one could convince him. So anyway, they didn't know where he went, cause after a while even the body in the cloak stopped talking. They think mayyyybe he transferred to a school for the invisible and visible impaired peoples. Coincidentally, the song on their new album, Blue Sky, is also about Johnny and his condition. This is really a cautionary tale about the dangers of visibility: one can lose himself so much literally he won't be able to find himself figuratively! Additionally, they won't be to see what color the sky is. Much love!!! | |
| The Decemberists – The Sporting Life Lyrics | 18 years ago |

This song is clearly about being homosexual. Obviously, the main character is using the "sporting life" as a metaphor for coming out. "My girlfriend arm and arm with the captain of the other team, and all of this is clear to me, they condescend, fix on me a frown." The captain of the other team is the captain of the straight team. His father is upset because he doesn't want his son to be gay. "And my father had had such hopes for a son that would take the ropes?" YEAH. "I'll prove to the crowd that I'll come out stronger, though I think I might lie here a little longer." He obviously has been hurt by coming out to some people but wants to prove that he's going to be a better person from it.... ...yeah, anyone who isn't a complete moron knows that this song is about being a homosexual. |
