| fucking fuck...some of you guys are jsut taking these lyrics way to literally i think this song is so amazing because of his metaphores for example " lullaby sounds fromt he engine in my styrofoam coffin asleep on the interstate" could just mean hes tired and feels loney driving all alone and is bored or it can represent how he feels .. worn out tired and his styrofoam coffin could obvs mean his car ... or he could have just said that because its a fucking beatiful choice of words that make up a beautiful line in a beautiful song and it touch people and make people think .. i duno but i love his fuckign music and this song is deffintily my favorite on cassadaga ..well this and a couple others | |

ok first of all "give up" i dont thnk the songs ironic at all... its actully completly the oppiste ..its just simply a list of everything and its current place in the world .. now fuck if i know conor oberst or why he wrote this song anymore than the next person but in an interview he said that that he wrote this song in "the height of a panic attack" as said in one of his online written interviews.. he said he was freaking out so he started writing down everyhitng in the world and its place ..the place that it belonged not where he wanted it to be or anyone designed it to be ... but where it is. period. he said it calmed him down.....he is absoloutely brilliant |
