Moby – When It's Cold I'd Like to Die Lyrics | 16 years ago |
This is from the album "Everything Is Wrong" It was also used as the ending credits soundtrack on the Sopranos episode "Join The Club" (where Tony is in the coma) I love this song, it's full of regret. And a strong sense of resentment for what the narrator's life has become, providing an end-solution. The narrator lets the listener/reader know that they shouldn't, for a lack of a better phrase, take it personal, especially in the line: What was that my sweet sweet nothing? I can't hear you through the fog If I holler let me go If I falter let me know The narrator has given up completely, comparing his life to an ocean, and not wanting to swim it any longer...painfully deep. |
Interpol – The Lighthouse Lyrics | 17 years ago |
I know it's painfully obvious that Interpol was very influenced by Joy Division, but The Lighthouse, reminds me sooooo much of Radiohead. This is my favorite song off Our Love to Admire. There's so much emotion in the lyrics and the echoing, vibratto guitar going in and out adds so much deeper feeling to the song's texture. When the piano/synth comes in, and Paul starts the "what do the waves..." line, I collapse, goosebumps, hair standing on neck, chills...It's amazing. Beautiful production. |
