| Jack's Mannequin – Hammers And Strings (A Lullaby) Lyrics | 17 years ago |

Okay, I'll be the first to admit that I was disappointed to hear from Andrew McMahon's mouth that this song isn't actually about Konstantine (Watch here: http://www.absolutepunk.net/showthread.php?p=21963502#post21963502). I especially thought it was like another small chapter of Konstantine because of the "punk rock" references the song makes (the girl in Punk Rock Princess is the same girl as Konstantine). However, the lyrics really do logically prove that this song is about Andrew's other love, the piano. Of course, there's the title (Hammers and Strings, aka the hammers and strings of the piano). There is also the fact that the piano Andrew is referring to is the one that traveled several SoCo (and JM?) tours with him. The lyrics, "These hammers and strings Been following me around Behind passenger vans Through the snow, dirt, and sands Of one thousand American towns" really make sense here. |

Okay, a couple of things: Yes, his voice/and the piano are out of tune in this version -- they both sound much better in the studio version. BUT, it feels like there's more emotion in this one, which is why I think people like it. I also LOVE LOVE LOVE the piano solo on 7:00-7:15, right before "they'll never hurt you like I do." I wish he put in those notes for the studio version. Why do you guys think Andrew changed some of the lyrics for the studio version? |

| Jack's Mannequin – Into the Airwaves Lyrics | 18 years ago |

^ to the comment above mine, I really don't think it's about breaking into mainstream radio at all. As we've seen from Andrew's previous songs (Astronaut, Rescued, Airports, etc.), he has this slight obsession with space, planes, and abstract things that are "up in the air," both literally and figuratively. In this case, I think he is talking about slipping into the airwaves of distance between his girlfriend and himself. I think his love just told him that she's moved across the country and he feels like their love is just going to slip away. As for the slightly arbitrary verses, I think he's just writing about his observations as he sits in front of his piano and looks out the window, but he still has this girl on his mind. Did I mention how much I love this song? I love pretty much all JM songs, but lately I've been listening to this one a lot. The chorus is just amazing. |

| I don't know why, but the line where he sings "And get to church 'cause you're a good girl, and I never told you that" makes me want to cry. | |

I heard from someone that Isaac said in a concert that he wrote this song for his sister. I don't know if he even has a sister, but when you look at the lyrics it kind of makes sense. Anyway, does anyone know if my source is completely wrong or not? |

Wow, I've never seen a song with more comments besides Konstantine by Something Corporate. But this one mostly has just people arguing to each other. Lol. Anyway, decent song but not their best. |

| Jason Mraz – Geek In The Pink Lyrics | 18 years ago |

uhh i really have to disagree with the comment above me. When he says "don't judge me by the color," he is referring to the color PINK, hence the title "geek in the pink." the line "I can save you from unoriginal dum-dums...who wouldn't care if you commm.....plete them or not" is HILARIOUS. I actually laughed out loud. FYI for people who don't get it -- he basically just feels that the guys girls usually end up with are jerks who only care about themselves [in bed] and not them. |

This is, by far, the Fray's best song. I think almost everyone has been in this situation. You start out kind of unsatisfied with a relationship and decide to to end it, and then you end up really missing the person and realizing that you were happier before. This is difficult because you don't want to swallow your pride and ask for him/her back, but as the song states appropriately, "Sometimes the hardest thing and the right thing are the same." My favorite part of the song is in the very middle "all at once the crowd begins to sing" when his voice is a capella and it sounds a little quieter. It's like I can actually feel him realizing that he's made a mistake. Great songgggg. |

| The Fray – City Hall Lyrics | 18 years ago |

This song is about a relationship ending in kind of a way the guy expected. The "rumors of re-election" that started to fly were the feelings that he sensed about his girlfriend thinking she should probably be in a different relationship. There aren't very many comments on this one, but it's a great song off of Reason, their first album. Download it if you get a chance |

When I first heard North, it kind of grew on me, so I looked into finding other Something Corporate songs and stumbled upon Konstantine. I remember first thinking that the song was too long and a bit weird. Then, over time, I fell in love with it and thought I was pretty much the only one who liked it that much. I couldn't believe so many people felt the same way. I've never seen a song with more comments before on this site. Anyway, this song means SO MUCH to me. Wow, I am annoyingly cheesy. Btw, check out the Konstantine facebook group (it's great to see so many other fans): http://hs.facebook.com/group.php?gid=2219698215 |
