Pink Floyd – Scream Thy Last Scream Lyrics 18 years ago
edit: i hear other things about "lucifer sam" about the cat symbolizing a girlfriend, but i still stand by my original interpretation of "Scream thy Last Scream"

Pink Floyd – Nick's Boogie Lyrics 18 years ago
slight correction for clarification to your bracket inpraiseoffolly: the "London 67" "Interstellar Overdrive" (of which was referred with "Tonight Let's All Make Love in London" aka "London 67") predates that of the one on Piper's at the Gate of Dawn and thus is the original.

All the same, the song "Nick's Boogie" does have a meaning, as i think he was around with Bob Klose, making him one of the few remaining members to make it through today, and as a foundation member wanted to set the pace as with what the band was becoming, thus two songs with one being done by Mason with the other being a Syd tune.

Watch "Live at Pompeii" do get a great Nick Mason show durring "One of these Days (I'm going to cut you into little pieces)"

Pink Floyd – Lucy Leave Lyrics 18 years ago
Lucy probably does mean LSD, as they were a great fans of the Beatles thus "Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds", LucySkyDiamonds...etc anyway. If anything Emily is the real girl, Lucy is a homage to the fab four (and i dont even like the beatles and I have to draw this relationship).
ur right though wildaboutyou, not all songs were about drugs, Lucifer Sam is simply about a cat and Chapter 24 is borrowed from the Book of Change, but they have alluded in later songs the 'secret' possibly being LSD (u dreamer, u piper...etc)

Pink Floyd – Scream Thy Last Scream Lyrics 18 years ago
The song seems to be about Roger Waters - think about it "Scream thy last scream" - Roger is known for that demonic high pitch scream from "Careful with that Axe Eugene"...etc, or it is just the constant nagging he took when people got upset with him. Still, it only makes sense that Roger Waters is "the old lady with the casket" as both Syd & him lost their father's in the war - only seems that Syd moved on better lthus Roger is carrying around the casket still. The "pointers" are criticisms that Syd takes when things about the songs are to be tweaked...etc Another bit of evidence to suggest the song being about Roger Waters is the line about the mouse as in "The Wall" Roger describes in an interview about how he had a mouse once as seen in the "Comfortably Numb" song. Speaking of "The Wall"l did you notice how Roger's character "Pink" was watching TV like a zombie, how about the line in this song "Watching the teley till all hours." The Pink Floyd have been known to reuse ideas and lyric concepts, and quite brilliantly each time in a unique way (such with the idea of catching the sun)
anyway, that's what I think.
