Lauryn Hill – To Zion Lyrics 18 years ago
I couldn’t disagree more with syvliasoven. Thank you Mattius82 for being a voice of reason and logic. Sylviasoven….Who is declaring this to be a religious OR Pro-Life “Anthem”?? Umm, nobody. So what ARE you talking about? Maybe you should open your dictionary and look up Zion. Here, I’ll make it easy for you and highlight…

Zi-on: noun.

1. a hill in Jerusalem, on which the Temple was built (used to symbolize the city esp. as a religious or spiritual center.
2. heaven as the final gathering place of true believers.

I’m not at all religious OR a Pro-Life campaigner. This song was intended to talk about the perils of unplanned pregnancy and the beautiful CHILD (not CHOICE) that came along with it. “I knew his life deserved a chance.” Not “ I knew my choice deserved a chance.” So whatever your harboring about abortion is your problem, not ours. I advise you to think about children in these situations, and not the political agenda. Children who are adopted grow up and read ignorant statements, much like yours, and will never understand why society as a whole does not acquire perspective before asserting their negative opinions on a commitment (life) that should be smiled upon. Nothing more. Nobody here said anything about anti-abortion, or politics for that matter. We all (sans you) seem to agree that this song is a beautiful and positive reflection of not just a ‘decision’ but a life. (Retards? Are you five?)

Pro Life! I love it and it's positive reflection of the joys we take for granted being passed onto a child. There is nothing more important than LIFE.

Jann Arden – Leave Me Now Lyrics 18 years ago
It's self-explanitory. But nonetheless, it's a song that if you're in the midst of a separation, you can play it and feel the lyrics resinate.

She doesn't want him to leave.

It's about the American Dream bitches. Rising above the struggle and feeling good about it. 'And it's all good.' Period.

The Shivers – Beauty Lyrics 18 years ago
This is the kind of song I could get drunk off of.

It's about truly being in love. For all of it's pleasures and perils.

Young Love – Close Your Eyes Lyrics 18 years ago
Amazing song.

Two lovers- not an official couple "I'm a man on the scene" he's a social bird, but always comes back to her. The one.

They are infactuated with one another and fascianated with the idea of not knowing when they'll come together again. But they pine for it.

And that is the beauty of not knowing. It's a blind surprise. 'Close your eyes.'

Sarah McLachlan – Fear Lyrics 18 years ago
I love that this song has so many insightful comments. And I agree with them all. From virginity, to depression, to love, and I especially like that butterflydreams cites Forces of Nature. This is truly a song that you FEEL more than you HEAR.

The Chicks – Godspeed (Sweet Dreams) Lyrics 18 years ago
This song could be applied to many situational circumstances. And for whatever they are, the point is that sometimes we cannot be with the little ones that we love. This song is a simple lullaby for the adult and child.

I agree with TDeMello. I believe the song is symbolic of the father/lover parallels. And these women are truly artistically original. I LOVE them.

Sara Evans – Backseat Of A Greyhound Bus Lyrics 18 years ago
It is no surprise; the lack of comments. This is a 'society-sensitive' song. Most of us cannot relate to the shame Sara Evans begins this song with. The girl feels ashamed, therefore unwanted. But understands that life has a greater meaning and even if our family or friends cannot understand or respect it; we must carry on. It's called- doing the right thing. Rare now-a-days.
