Well tbh, after reading everbody elses posts I guess this song is pretty simple. & even though I'm obviously incredibly stupid and naive it is still linked to suicide, whether he died or not. He planned to kill himself in that car, planned to get rid of his wasted years in the most drastic way possible. & the burning of evidence clearly hints at cremation. But anyway. whether he died or not is irrelavent. It is written from the idea or some parents living their lost lives through their little boy. The car crash shocked them into realising what they could have lost, but shocked the boy into realising what he had to gain by staying alive. Billy talent are amazing. |

IM not rly very good at this analyzing song stuff. But like, sure this is about war? at least it hints at it, dying young; soldiers? innocent civilians during war? Just a thought. Also he mentions morning a lot in this song. Maybe that's a clue to what its about. |

I heard this song was about him dating a mother & a daughter at the same time. In reality I'm rly not sure what this song is about, but I know somewhere I can relate to it. The only lines I feel could be the reasoning behind my attachment to this song are "And I cannot believe I'm falling That's where I'm going Where are you going? Hold it close won't let this go" these words make me feel of falling in love, so much in love that yr scared the reciprocater isn't in that place yet, so yr questioning them. But also so much in love that you never ever want to let it go. |

I love BSoJealous's interpretation of the lyrics. It seems so sensible that the line 'wasting words on lowercases and capitals' doesn't have to be about wasting time before breaking up with somebody, has I have heard suggested so many times, but instead about not wanting to waste time explaining stupid little things, when life is too short. This would tie in nicely to the message portrayed in the music video, which is almost as strong as the song. Aside from this, there are other strong messages throughout the song that point towards a failing relationship. But I so don't want it to mean this, I'm routing for it being trying to portray true love before its too late. This song is amazing, and has remained one of my favourites for many years, I hope it won't ever stop making me feel the way it does. |

On first hearing this song, when the album was first released I spent no time at all even wondering what the meaning of this song was, just focusing on the beautiful sound of Matt Bellamy's voice, and the soft, sensational melodies. & truthfully today was the first time i ever thought about reading, or rly listening to the lyrics. Whatever this song truely means, To me I can feel the pain of losing somebody who you just can't bear to live without. However much I love this song, it will from now on always remind me of the pain of thinking you have lost the most loved person in yr life forever and ever. Luckily for me I got them back, i got the memories that he speaks of to return to me, but I don't think he will be so lucky. |
