"A show of hands from those in this audience of one Where have they gone ?" I think this line means that there is no one to blame but his self. And to address the haters that apparently have invaded songMEANINGS.net: When did it become that whenever a punk band has "harmony" or "melody" it is automatcially "horrible" pop-punk? And if you want to classify it as that fine, but to me Rise Against is one of a very few punk bands that have reached a wide audience (gasp the horror) and still have a message and a meaning behind their ART. And that is what punk (to me) means carrying a message of change, of outrage, of genuine emotion. ($0.02) |

| This one has a similar message to "Lost Pilgrim." In that the powers that hold sway upon the masses are distorting reality and facts to fit their own "precious delusion." "Storybook sages" are the people who write and control history, i.e. politicians and religious figures. "Warming sun" I think has a double meaning. One: shedding light on facts (scientific discoveries, etc.) & Two: literally warming sun, global warming, giving the song an example of the manipulation that is occuring. $0.02 | |

| "Pilgrim" seems to mean a person, i.e. you or me. The song seems to be about the "pilgrim" has been misled by the powers-that-be and "lost his way." And by losing the way has ignored many of the correctable woes in the world around them. Ignoring them because they have been told that everything is copacetic. | |
