I moved to missouri with my mom and 2 brothers in the summer of my 4th grade year. We moved in with my aunt and her son. My cousin was 4 yrs older than me...Star athlete, student body president, got a full right to the university of missouri. He was my role model and I worshipped him from afar. He gave up his full ride to the best college in the state to come be with the mother of his brand new daughter...they had decided to make things work for the 3 of them..... So he transfered back home to a decent 4yr university. The day he signed papers on a brand new home for the 3 of them that had just been built....he was in a car accident that night and hit a semi head on. He burned to death trapped in his car. I never got to tell him how amazing he was to me or that i am who i am and want to be who i want to be bc of him and never got to thank him for taking me and and playing the big brother role to me or what it all meant to me. And here I am...in all my ignorance stupidity and taking my life for granted.....he made one bad choice and drove drunk one night even thoough he had the rest of his shit together and he burned to death in his car....Yet god still finds a reason to leave me hee everytime and I assure u, there arent too many wqorse than me that arent still in prison.....This song makes me think of my cousin and the amazing things he did and the amzing life he lived...And how blessed i am and what a disaster i am |

This song is about how he destroys "sacrifices" things that are important to him...ie relationships bc he's scared...for whatever reason that me be. When he says he's had some time to hone his lying technique...he means that he's had time to convince himself that the things he says are true....that's y he turns right around and says i know u think im someone u can trust...and ur right. Bc this is someone that he cares about. When he says do u think that we could work out a sign....he's showing again this is someone that he cares about. He saying just tell me how i can know that that goodbye..."it's over" is what u really have to do. And when he says before that line....that he will get scared and nail you back up....he's saying that he will get scared and blow things and that she will just end up getting sacrificed....hurt....bc thats what he always semms to do to people that he really cares about for some reason |
