The Everybodyfields – Be Miner Lyrics 10 years ago
Closing time for the sunshine
Ladies are painting their faces
I combed my hair it looked just right
Went out to go to these places I go

It's early, the birds wont stop screaming
Don't tell a soul its my birthday
I can't make my heart stop beating
I had a happy, happy birthday this year

Upside down reads sorry from the trashcan
Regret, you miserable lover
I closed my hands til they turned white
This cancer has taken both body and mind

On the ground, the dragging of the boot heel
My feet are so tired of leaving
Pride shakes the hand in the mirror

Elvis Costello – Almost Blue Lyrics 18 years ago
Love this song.

It's about two people in a relationship who have grown apart. "There's a girl here and she's almost you..." refers to his current love, but because they've grown apart, she's just not the same.

I agree with erikmsims. It's about that part of a breakup where you're just driving yourself insane thinking about it.

I agree with ohpioneer for the most part, but at the end where he's saying

You're coming home
And I'm trying to forgive
You're coming home
I'm just trying to forget...

I think he really wants to be away from her. To me "neither of us want to be alone" just means that they are getting back together just for the sake of being with someone.

Damien Rice – Unplayed Piano (with Lisa Hannigan) Lyrics 18 years ago
And I just realized the line is "in the changing of the moon."

Same line as the last line in the song.

brokenrecall -

I think the lines between the verses in the second verse are:

...unplayed piano
...still holds a tune
...years years pass by
...in the chilling of the moon
...through the only window
...in a stale stale room
...stale stale room
