this is the first song i heard from ben folds...i laughed not because it was bad but because i thought it was funny. its making fun of most musicians, and how they come from an 'american family' (white, middle class, 2.5 kids, no real problems) but act as if their lives were so horrible. |

I'm turning 13 and I can relate to this song. It's about growing up and being depressed at the same time. And you want to cry but you can't because you're 'grown up' and 'grown ups don't cry for no reason'. I believe he wrote it when he was 13, because I assume (from his lyrics) he's a smart person. And I think it's "words become a little to mean" at the end. ^_^ |
