i personally think this song is about a close friend who he always thought of as more than a friend. they've got a really good friendship and stuff. this girl might not really have strong opinions on stuff (she don't know who she is) so she gets on with all this guys friends and everyone he knows (i can take her anywhere), so she's pretty much ideal for him. i guess in the end he picks up the courage to ask her out, he knew he'd end up with her eventually. it's a lovely song if you ask me. :) |

i'm only here to agree with what everyone else has pretty much said. i quite like to think of it as if, he's made so many mistakes that the consequences are going to be pretty harsh, and he'll hate them. so he just keeps running away from them knowing they will catch up with him. in the end he got 'tired of running' from them, but the consequences weren't as bad as he'd expected. and either the 'i needed you' bit (to me) means he'd needed somebody to help get him through it but he'd messed things up with them but they've accepted him back, or he'd finally found god or something. |

To me, it sounds like they're trying to say everybody that makes these rules e.g. politicians etc. are trying to make the world 'better' for kids, but really they're just making our lives "fucked and boring", cause they won't let us do anything we get kicks out of. I also agree with Lxinsomniacxp when he says about kids and teenagers always being talked down to and not shown respect and how we can't choose how our lives are being governed. Maybe we're only "young and hostile" because we're being treated like that? Basically, the line "if we're fucked up, you're to blame" says it all. To me it also means, the only good thing about this god damn rules is that we can turn out fucked up, and blame everybody else. :) |

Ahh I do love this song. In my opinion, I think it's trying to get at the fact that everybody's under the infulence of the media. They "feed" us with advertisment etc. for all their products etc., and we all go crazy and buy it.!I also think it's saying that media targets the younger audience these days, so they spend their parents money on their products - "I wanna make a record for ten-year-old fans! They can learn the dance; it will be a smash I can rob their parents’ hard-earned cash". Yeahh I'm finished using long words and shit. I proper love this song rofl. (Y)! |
