Maybe.... When he says "If all you are is a little confused, then all your sins are excused That's what you thought, well didn't you?" What if that is meaning as if you think you believe in God and know about Jesus and you were a little "confused" about it since you never paid much attention to it and thought your sins would be "excused" anyways. If you get what I am trying to say. And that follow up line, "That's what you thought, well didn't you?" is like saying that's what you though and it's saying it in a way as if he is saying "Thats what you thought, right, think again." In that same tone. Something Like That. :) |

I saw this on the gospel music channel. lol (this band is with Solid State Records, sub category for the record company "Tooth and Nail" which is a christian rock record label.) what i think it means is dying and going to heaven. and then it says.... "We've dimmed our lights past darkness Hiding our way back from this Swallowing every glimpse of our faithfulness Who will guide us home when we cannot see?" its like talking about jesus guiding you to heaven, and showing you the way, even though you don't know, or can't "see" god or anything. and when it also says "Will you love me when you hear me lie? " its like saying: even though you may lie, and stuff, you still are accepted to heaven. |

I have a meaning. probrobly wrong though. I think its as if he were talking to his girlfriend/wife or someone he loves After they were in an argument or mad at each other. hes saying to her, "Tell me I'm wrong Tell me I'm indestructible Tell me my faults Tell me I'm lying to myself" admitting that he was wrong and that he's telling her to admit he was wrong so she could come back. "'Cause I'm never gonna wait for someone else You need to know that's why We're the ones that brought this on ourselves" There he's saying that he only loves her. and that he doesnt want anyone else. when he also says, "Maybe in time Maybe we'll get all over this Maybe in time" he's saying that sometime they'll get over it. so all wrapped up, I think its an apology saying he's wrong and wants his loved one to come back because shes the only one for him. |

To me this song is an argument between 2 people, the singer, and another person who has problems such as depressed and doesnt know god, etc. If you look at the lyrics a little closer its more like a conversation. the singer are the verses and the other guy (the one with problems) is the chorus. Example: Verse 1- "Walk into flames that YOU start with yourselves And get help while YOU can To pull me from those Burnt down YOUR home Great, a diversion to buy YOURSELF time To give thanks to the ones who are all alone YOUR're all alone These hives They break into YOUR skin like a thief They rob YOU of life while you sleep So you cut and YOU cut til there's nothing left" the singer is describing the other guys life above. Chorus- "This paper posed as photographs This promise snapped with time elapsed You think you do But you don't know ME at all" This is the other guys responce. and this i found goes on durring the song. So if your reading my comment, re-read the lyrics as if it were 2 people talking. |
