| Jack's Mannequin – Kill The Messenger Lyrics | 18 years ago |
|
This one of the most sad and most touching songs on the album. Happens to be my favorite too. As many think, I see it as about a man with an illness (referencing to the leukemia Andrew was diagnosed with) deciding whether or not to continue any further feeling/relationship with a girl. Quite possibly, he is "the messenger" of the bad news - his illness, and also the messenger of all the bad things he may have said before: "And get to church 'Cause you're a good girl And I never told you that." That part could be his apology. I also think the "And all I need from you Could be the thing that leaves us both up here forever" part could mean that he needs her love, but... His illness may worsen and their grief will just get worse, leaving them together but separate from everyone else. So later, he walks past her apartment since he just can't stay away, and knowing that she lives there, but she's not there at the moment - it leads to more worry of what to do. Possibly, he starts to cry a little ("And all the colors got so dim"; is it "down" or "dim"? I read the lyrics elsewhere and it said "down") and he just feels horribly lonely. On this site, the lyrics give "and he never told you that" near the end (meaning she's probably found herself someone else for the moment). However, I listened to an acoustic version of the song and he definitely sings "and I never told you that." Which is correct? "I'm gonna send a little rain" is most certainly my favorite line from this song. |

| Sarah Brightman – Eden Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| So beautiful. My mom got a tape years ago of some of Sarah's greatest hits and I immediately fell in love with this one. I always imagine navy blues and deep greens when I listen to this. The song is so rich and full of feeling. When she sings of never having tried to feel, I guess she means that she's fallen in love with someone now. She may have known the person for years, but now she's reaching for Eden - his very being - for the first time. I think this is such a great cover. | |
| Train – Drops of Jupiter Lyrics | 18 years ago |

This song is the most amazing one ever, in my honest opinion. Train is stupendous to think up lyrics like these. And yeah, you get the point. I think it's just wonderful. I like to think of it as just an ode to the weird and wonderful out there. He's met a crazy girl who's got her own mind and does what she feels is right. She "checks out Mozart and does tae-bo" for Pete's sakes. She's like no other!! Those kind of far-out people can really do something you, and she did something special to him. I love these random but truthful lyrics. Who couldn't? |

| Avril Lavigne – Things I'll Never Say Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| This was one of the first songs I heard by Avril and most definitely the one that's stuck to me the most. I especially love the melody of that "La da da da La da da da" part. I think this song's way better than many of her other more popular ones. It's really youthful and wishful. Love it lots. | |
| Howie Day – Kristina Lyrics | 18 years ago |

I love these lyrics: "she can spin my motivation like a record off the wall." Great way to relate music to how loving someone makes their every move and thought wreak havoc on what YOU're doing. Looove this song to crazy little bits. |

| Travis – Writing to Reach You Lyrics | 18 years ago |

I really do love the melody in this song. Sunday is often a really tired, relaxing day after a party-night-out Saturday. I think maybe the "Only want to teach you About you But that's not you" part can speak about how sometimes, when you think you're in love with someone, you imagine this perfect being image of them. You might want to "teach" the person about who you see them to be... but after you really get to know them, you understand he or she isn't perfect. However, they might still be attractive to you and it hurts. |
